The X570 Aorus Elite? It was only $199 at launch, I got for $149 at Microcenter because they were taking $50 off mobos and 5700/5700XTs if you bought them with any zen 2 chip in summer last year. So I got the Elite for $149 and a 5700 XT for $349 at launch for both basically
Wasn't the Elite, sorry.

Thought that would be be about the hardware unboxed guys and was like OH HELL NO (love their motherboard VRM tests, GPU roundups and monitor reviews specifically)
Yeah the unboxed therapy guy is just an ad replacement basically, @ IT'S A DEHUMIDIFER

EA Access is coming to Steam. Few games already ported over like SoT, goodbye Origin.

Yeah just read on the main page. Really big news, I'm excited.
I just experienced GamePass for the first time with Minecraft Dungeons.
I'm all in on this sub-to-play model.

AMD's Big Navi RDNA2 set to hit PC before PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X make it to market: likely beats NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
That would be a huge jump, hopefully they price it right. I'd probably pay $700 maybe 8 tops for a slightly more powerful 2080ti card.

Some 3800XT benchmark leaked:
LINK
~10% faster than 3800X in this gaming benchmark, rut roh Intel. That would pretty much close the gap.

I want to RP.

submitted a thread to MS Support forum for these BSODs. If they can't tell me whats wrong using the .dmp files by end of day tomorrow, I'm just nuking the system and starting over.

You realize just doing a fresh image would have been significantly faster than doing all this work right?

Yes, but if it's a hardware issue than I would've done it for nothing and be stuck troubleshooting again. Figured I'd try to narrow it down first and see if it is indeed a corrupt driver. Like I said, this literally only happens for one game so it's not a big deal
Do I just have to do this Fresh Start option in my settings? It says "Start fresh by reinstalling and updating Windows. This will keep your personal files and some Windows settings and remove most of your apps, including MS Office, third party anti-virus software, and desktop apps that came pre-installed on your device."

I just finished building my first PC ever and it feels good man. I've only ever had laptops and cheap store bought PCs but I decided to treat myself since I'm becoming more of a PC gamer and it's something that interested me since I was in HS.
I kind of feel like an idiot because I got my final part in 3 days ago, and I immediately put it together and my monitor wouldn't get a signal. I disassembled it, reassembled it like 4 times the past few days and I got really worried I fricked it up. Turns out, I was using the HDMI port from the motherboard and not the GPU. I didn't even know the GPU had an HDMI port, all the ports on it had identical rubber plugs on them, I figured they were there to help stay seated on the bracket or something.
Eventually figured it out so I reassembled it for the final time and got it to display on the monitor. I can forgive myself since this is my first ever build, we all gotta start somewhere.
Updated the drivers, but I left the BIOS alone, not gonna try overclocking it or anything. For now at least, doesn't seem necessary. After getting my apps and browser stuff in order, got on steam and booted up Halo 2 which I couldn't even play on the crappy PC I had before this and I put it on the highest settings and I'm floored by the performance.
Just wanted to share my little story because I feel like the N64 kid right now. It definitely feels rewarding and I feel like I made a big accomplishment even though it probably isn't that big of a deal to most. Specs if anyone's curious:
Mobo - ASUS Tuf Gaming Plus AM4 X570 ATX
CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600x 6-core
RAM - TeamGroup T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 (2x 8GB)
SSD - Crucial P2 M.2 500 GB
HDD - Western Digital 3 TB
GPU - MSI GeForce RTX 2080
PSU - Seasonic FOCUS Plus 750
Case - Fractal Design Meshify C - Black
I know it aint the absolute top of the line but I feel pretty good about it. Especially considering it's my first build
