So I'm thinking of trading my U2518D and a little cash for a PG279Q only thing is the monitor has a spot
The guy says it's completely invisible when playing games and movies but noticable on a white screen. Never really seen anything like it, doesn't seem like a stuck pixel to me. Was seeing if anyone has had this issue before?

I think that's a dead pixel and I think you can fix it.

Dead pixels are rarely fixable... You're a luckily few if can get it fixed

Yeah even with that the guy wanted to much, just kept my monitor and bought the 27 Omen for $300 (what the guy wanted) from Walmart.
G Sync is amazing on 1440p.

Anyone have any longterm success with OCing a monitor? My biggest concern is shortening lifespan.

I did but I might bring it down if it shortens the lifespan.
