I'm moving back to the BTR area from New Jersey next month. It has been a good 15 years since I have lived in your area. Any ideas what I can expect for internet speeds in the Denham Springs area? Only thing I'll miss about NJ is this $65/month fios gigabit connection.

Att fiber may be out there. If not, it's probably 300/30 from Cox

I love off Juban in Denham, they were putting in the fiber in our neighborhood about 6-7 months ago I think.
We have been with Cox since we moved out there in Oct '16. Outside of it being out for the flood for 4-5 days, it's been really solid with no problems at all. We pay for 300/30 but when I run speed test I get almost 375/30 each time I run it.
We use their modem/router which kind of sucks, but I don't have a whole lot to complain about with their internet tbh.

Thanks for the replies. Looking forward to seeing how well my PC handles the change of climate. This mitx setup is going to break a sweat

I hope you're living in a house with AC

I am for sure. Will still probably need to make some of these custom fan curves a little more steep though. Headphones are a great mask for fan noise

What PC forums you guys frequent these days? Just Reddit now and a few older ones?
I'm having a hard time finding a main/home with the decline of AnandTech's forums and within the last year OCN was sold to the highest bidder. A lot of the newer high traffic forums don't see the activity and community engagement with enough frequency.

I dont do much foruming these days outside of TD. Reddit is cancerland for stuff like hardware, so I never look through those subs.
GTX 1080 tis are now as low as $500 on hardwareswap... Looking mighty tempting to SLI

Anyone looking to sell off their PC to upgrade? I’m looking to get back into the PC gaming community.

Damn, should have bought a caselabs case. They're going out of business

Well that is a shame. Looks like they won't be able to fulfill all orders either. Makes for a good political headline since they're blaming the tariffs.
Although, isn't Thermaltake selling knockoffs? I wouldn't mind a smaller modular case. I am considering a downsize next time I do a major overhaul. I'm gaming so little now that I can't really justify a multi-GPU setup. The older I get, the more money I'm spending on boring grown-up stuff, like a new patio and carport.

Yeah that made me sad.
I have a Merlin S8. Nothing else like it.

I won't be building any time soon so I am just a spectator now.

Yea 2080s aren't interesting if coming from TITANS or 1080 Tis.
So tired of this Little and Big release stages since Kepler. Hopefully a TITAN releases sooner. Midrange cards are a joke.

Yep. Especially since they're going to release a 2080ti a few months after the 2080 release
Posted on 8/16/18 at 11:34 am to bluebarracuda
You sure about that? I thought they didn't release a 1080ti until nearly a year after the 1080 was released.
Posted on 8/16/18 at 1:45 pm to boXerrumble
Close to it. 1080 was May 2016 and 1080 Ti was March 2017. I think it was a similar timeline for the 980 and 980 ti, maybe a little less.

If the price is decent and I'm still within the 3 month trade in for EVGA, I'll swap for a 2080
Posted on 8/16/18 at 5:12 pm to Hu_Flung_Pu
Has the mining craze died down or is it still messing up GPU prices?
Posted on 8/16/18 at 5:12 pm to DoUrden
Died down. New 1080s can be around 450
