You think he'd be a fan of the dual shock.

I don't get the D-pad hate. It's still used in every game I play. Even sports games for tactics. I used it just about as much as the buttons in Madden with presnap adjustments.

The D-pad when utilized right is very helpful and I guess under appreciated.

and they don't even feel comfortable just holding them in your hands. A few of the games the joycon kept wanting to slip out.

Geeze the bias is strong here. For what they are and what they are trying to achieve, the controllers are awesome. The only issue is the tiny dpad, and the slight discomfort playing with one sideways, which isn't meant for long Zelda sessions. It's meant for quick multiplayer games on the go.

I won't argue one over the other, but this just isn't true.

There must be some reason for the vast difference of opinions. IMO, the Xbox and Gamecube and Pro Controllers are so much better than any of the dual shocks

The PS2 is one of the best consoles of all time, with one of the worst controllers. I hate the location of nearly everything on it. I did like the feel of the sticks, but that's it.

After actual hands on, bias doesn't factor in. Literally fell out of my hands twice. Other than being small and detachable, there is nothing about the joycons that indicates that are meant for your hands. And since they are detachable, going with the offset analog was a dumb design choice because having that stick in the middle of the right joycon sucks.

You are projecting bro.

I love my Switch but those things are usable for me. Esp the right hand one with an off set analog stick.

PS4 is solid and like any normal person, you get used to change. There's no hand fatigue at all. My only main gripe is how small and recessed the option and share buttons are, but I've gotten used to that as well.

Same, no problems with the PS4 controller. The OP seems overly emotional in most of his posts on this site

The differences between the controllers is probably the most overblown and exagerrated thing on TD.

I love the 360 controller, but I don't understand why people don't like DS4. It's pretty close to perfect. DS is a very popular design that people are used to. I don't think it's going to change that much.

This.

The Dualshock 4 is my favorite controller ever.
I rather both of my analog sticks in the lower middle. For first person shooters (which you use both analog sticks more than anything) I like that my thumbs have the same angle.

The angle of my thumb has never bothered me.
But peoples hands are different I suppose.

It isn't created to fit human hands and the location of the left joystick does not correlate with the base forward/backward motions of that joystick.

I have a PS4. I can tolerate it, but it isn't perfect by any standard.

I guess my hands are deformed. I would be disappointed if they moved the left joystick.

Edit: I play a lot of shooters and strafing left to right is used just as much as forward.

I don't like the dual shock 4. The plastic feels cheap, the rubber on the analogue sticks wears off, and the d-pad is really stiff making it physically painful to play fighting games.

I thought the dual shock 3 was a great controller, especially for it's time. motion control and vibration plus rechargeable battery so no need for buying batteries.

The re-designed original xbox controller was great. I did not like the 360 game pad very much. The xbox one controller feels very high quality.

Nintendo basically invented modern console control controller with the SNES pad then went off the deep end with the N64 and they haven't came back from it since.

Worst controller of all time is the Wii U's gamepad. But I am sure OP thinks it was great.

The only con for me is that the battery life could be better. Outside of that, it works extremely well. 360 would be perfection if its dpad wasn't hot garbage (literally worst DPAD I've ever had to experience). Both are 9/10 for me.

How the hell are you people holding these controllers.

I am confused by that too. Maybe they just have very very large hands? I have zero comfort issues with it.

Their hands are permanently deformed from their hourly "Rub One Out for Reggie". Dedicated fans.

DualShock 4 is better than the Xbone controller IMO. 360 controller is teh master of them all though. The Xbone buttons and triggers feel stiff and cheap.
