The entire reason I stick with XBox over PS is because of how shitty the PS controllers are.
Its not that bad. Sometimes rather the XBONE and sometimes I rather the PS4.
I'm a PC gaming so for the longest time I used the 360 controller for some games. So I learned that controller and its arrangement, you become comfortable with it. A bitching session would start every time I played something on PS3/PS4.
Then tLoU was released giving me hours of straight game play without going back to PC/360 controller. I then became comfortable with that controller.
Now I feel fine picking up anyone one of those controllers. They each IMO are better used for certain genres. The XBONE is better in my case at driving and exploration games since your hands rest a little more naturally. In the PS4 controllers case it does a better job for me with shooter best games, even if they aren't FPS games. With my hand placement, the close together inline analog sticks promote my grip access triggers easier and direct tight corners with the sticks.

My main problem with the PS4 controller is the tiny options button. Its hard to pause in a hurry. Also why do they need them options and share. Why not start and select like a normal person. The share button is also completely useless to me.
I prefer PS4's dpad for fighting games, mainly Tekken.
The trigger buttons on xbox are a little better but its not a big deal.

In the controller game, XBOX beats the shite out of PlayStation. Seriously considering switching to the X-One on the strength of a superior controller. Playing and hour with a DualShock leaves your fingers in some pain

Just from from top controller lists I googled, the dualshock was consistently at the top of the lists, sometimes #1, with the general consensus that the 360 is goat.
So I feel comfortable saying that it's not this atrocity everyone claims it is.

Its not. Some fanboys or ppl with fckked up hands.
Totally personal preference and what you have time played on that gives you a comfortable experience with ease of use.
I like both controllers. As I said earlier, even think each controller plays or is more comfortable with certain genres

I had both the 360 and that PS3 and definitely preferred the xbox controller, but again that was more to do with the weight of the PS3. I'm now just PS4 and it's fine.

L2 and R2 are the only things that sucked about PS3
360 and PS4 controllers kick arse. One Elite should be good because they fixed the bumpers. Need to pick one up for overwatch

If it's not broke, don't fix it. I'm glad it hasn't changed much. I like the DualShock controller way more than th Xbox controller.

I'm probably in the minority but the PS4 controller is my favourite ever. I hated the PS3 controller and it's even more ridiculous when I pick one up now. IMO, the Xbone controller is inferior to the 360. The 360 was a great controller, idk why they felt the need to change it so much.

The ps4 controller is better than the xbox1 controller however it upsets me when games make you push down the stick to run faster
It hurts my thumb after a while

I loved the Xbox 360 controller, it was probably my favorite, but with that said, the Xbone controller is not even close to the same level. The buttons just feel way to "cheap." I'm still also salty (perhaps irrationally so) that it takes AA batteries.
PS4 DualShock is the best PS controller to date, but it isn't as good as the 360 controller.
For those saying it is uncomfortable, I just don't understand that. I have rather large hands and I have never had a moment where my hands felt uncomfortable. At least not enough to make me think about it I guess.
My one big gripe with the PS controller is that I have gone through 2 of them due to charging issues. One of them due to battery issues and the other due to physical charger connection issue. Probably a reason I should be happy with AA batteries on the Xbone controller.

Lots of games have a "click to run" setting, where you just press down once and you'll keep sprinting as long as you are pressing forward on the stick.

The Xbox One controller's bumpers suck arse. Heard this was fixed on the Elite controller, but I ahven't gotten one yet.
The 360 controllers is still the GOAT of GOATs
I don't mind the PS4 controller. Very ergonomic.
Definitely a YMMV type of topic. Xbox's controllers still kick the dog shite out of the PS controllers. I can't fall in love with the PS4 (I have both systems) because of the fricking controller.

I won't argue one over the other, but this just isn't true.
At all.

I personally like my PS4 controller over my Xbox controller, it seems more spread out for my large hands and the stick being inside allows me to more comfortably hold it without feeling tight. I do have an elite Xbox controller that I like much better than the regular controller though.

I love the PS4 controller.
Just about every game I play uses the d pad. Even in FIFA to change tactics.
