Yeah, why can't I lock my door?

Although I guess we are constantly up in their houses all day..

ETA: Anyone else spend way too much time in this thread at work because they want to go home and play the game?

Currently lvl 14 wood elf assassin. All my points are in sneak and archery for the most part.

Same here, but level 22. I recommend investing 5 points or so into one-handed to get dual-wield perks. Dual-wielding daggers and backstabbing for 15x damage (from the sneak tree) is ridiculous. Almost nobody is too tough if you can sneak up behind them with that combo.

The pc version

I have the PC version. I have decent computer. Nothing too fancy. 3.0 ghz phenom II, 4 gb ram, 1 gb gt9500 video card. It's pretty much the recommended hardware specs for the game.

I load it up and it detects that my system can handle high settings. I start the game and end up getting terrible FPS. I went back and changed my settings to medium. Same thing. I finally put it on low and it runs fine but doesn't look that great at all.

I read online last night that the 360 controller option is selected by default for the PC version. Also the VSync is causing some headaches.

I turned off the 360 controller option and set my Vsync to 0, and viola, I'm running tuned-down high no problem now. It's decent on the PC, but a shitty port, if you ask me.

Reguard warrior. Dual wield, heavy armor, and lockpicking so far.is there any benefit to putting points into lockpicking? Picks seem easy enough to come by and I haven't met a lock I couldn't open. It's way easier than picking in Oblivion

For some reason I haven't found a lot of picks, my problem is I break so many trying the high end locks. I could probably buy them in the thieves guild city, just haven't checked.

Picking difficult locks is a pain if you don't have a few lockpicking perks, IMO. I grow weary of using 10 lockpicks on one expert or master lock. For me, I hate not being able to open everything, but I also don't like wasting a lot of time trying to pick a lock, so it's worth it.

eta: Did anyone notice the pickpocket perk that let's you carry an extra 100 lbs? Not too shabby.

I put one or two in picking. I pick everything I can find too. I think I'm up to 48 or so now.

If you aren't finding a lot if picks, do what I do. Almost every vendor sells them. No matter what I am doing, I buy picks from any vendor i meet. They are cheap and don't weigh anything. That way I know I have a good supply.

There's Skelton key in this game. If it is like oblivion, then lock picking perks may not be necessary.

You still have to waste a lot more time picking the locks. Not fun. I'd rather blow a couple of perks on it. I usually have a level here and there where I don't have any perks I can choose from my primary skill-trees because my skill isn't high enough, anyway.

Hey I did the "find the 3 lost books" quest and in the final room only found 2. But there are 3 pedestals and the 2 books I found were on 2 of them. Anyone else do this quest? I really hope I didn't get all 3 and drop 1 in some random part of the dungeon. This is driving me crazy.

I figure I'll throw some in there later on. I don't plan on beating the main quest until I finish all the others so I have a whole to lvl up my guy awesome.

Does anyone else have one magic spell they saved up for just in case? I lvled up my magic just to where I can summon a fire demon (can't remember what they are called).

VERY possible that you knocked one of them off the pedestal while fighting the bitch. I did but my quest markers were on so it showed me that it was on the floor almost under the dead summoned flame bitch.

How is it a shitty port?

I have had 0 problems. I installed it, have had no crashing, no graphic glitches, and hell, I can even Fraps my gameplay and maintain decent FPS on high settings.
