For example, if there are not enough tanks, the game will annoy you about it with messages until a couple more people pick tanks. I don't have as much fun playing a tank therefore any round I play where I feel compelled to to play a tank (because no one else will do it), I don't have as much fun.

Does that message to the side actually annoy you? I mean it is a helpful tip about structuring a balanced team, but is by no means absolutely necessary. A team of Mei's is the best formation you can have, but the game doesn't "like" it.

I played against an entire team of Tracers and they completely wrecked us. However, if we are playing an escort mission and all you are doing is standing in the back trying to pick off random stragglers, what is the point? You aren't helping anything.

The game is just such a wonderful change of pace. It is idiotic, obnoxious, and just so much fun.

Jesus how many characters are there? Is this a game that I will get owned in consistently? (I think I know the answer to that second question)

There's a bunch. There are a bunch of ways to do well in it. Reinhardt is a great go to to get a hang of the game as he has a shield that is awesome.

Or, just go with Bastion and win MVP every match

Is the Xbox the system most are playing on? Any big differences from PC to console or they look the same?

Yea, they look pretty much the same. The game is pretty cartoony, so system won't make much of a difference there.

I know we have a few in here playing on xbone. Not sure what the PC community is like.

Damn Amazon is selling it for $48 but that is only for physical disc. I would rather have it digital. I have Xbone

It's interesting to see villainous characters in their "natural" state when you only know them from the show.

I won't be able to play for a few weeks and I trust it's going to take a while to reach critical consensus, but do we have general feels? More replayable than Destiny? Is this another TF2?

Launch snuck up on me and I got too much going on to properly monitor early impressions

It has its similarities, but I feel like it's more diverse than TF2.

I don't see this as comparable to Destiny. Destiny is MMO-lite designed to keep you chasing a carrot on a stick. This game doesn't really provide many unlockables aside from cosmetics and baring new maps or heroes added as DLC, it's more about how replayable the game mechanics make the game to you personally. I tend to tire of multiplayer shooters quickly, but there are those who spend 100s of hours logged into CoD or Battle field multiplayer

Is this game actually that good?

I am having a hard time buying the hype.

It is pretty damn fun. Though, if online multiplayer just doesn't hold your interest very long, it probably isn't for you.

The game is way more fun if you play with friends and have a mic for voice comms.

If you don't have either of those, I could see how any multiplayer would get boring.

Its simple with very little content, but its a pretty refreshing experience. The matches are short and fast pace and if you have friends to play with I would say its worth it.

I probably put about 7 hours on it yesterday alone lol. Perks of getting a day off of work and being out for summer.

TF2 is more of a class-based FPS. Overwatch is more of a MOBA that strips out character builds and PVE. Overwatch is all about PVP between the heroes

I don't know that I would classify it as a MOBA.

When I hear MOBA, I think Dota, LoL, HoTS, etc...

Overwatch, to me, is an FPS that is somewhat comparable to TF2, but is more complex, fast paced and has more diversity.
