My local teammates are fricking pathetic. I am fsr from the strongest around, but dont drop a fricking 600 pidgeot on the gym and act like you did something.

Man, I wish they had a way of having tiered gyms. I think the strongest thing I have is a 407 Nido queen. I'm level seven. Haven't even tried a gym yet, because everyone is 1500+.

The combat is setup so that low lvl ppl can take high gyms if they commit to it.
You can dodge every attack
Maybe not a lvl 10 gym with 10 2k cp defenders but low lvl gyms for sure.
If u find a low lvl gym u can 6v1 or 6v2 it

Even with that, you can do some damage. You'd have to get good at dodging like it's been discussed earlier in the thread. If you come across a gym with weaker pokemon before the main guy that's usually 1500+, you can knock down the gym to level 1 and someone else will clean up. From what I can tell, every time you win a single battle, the opponent's gym loses 500 points, even if you run away after beating the first guy. Take out the first enemy, run away. Rinse. Repeat. The gym will lose prestige, and it'll be easier to take down the boss (or at the very least, someone else will take it down soon after you leave).

Venusaur - under 300 CP and still couodn't catch him
Abra - seen maybe two so far
Snorlax - saw a 1292 earlier tonight, and a 971 a couple weeks ago. Used every great ball and pokeball I had but couldn't catch either.
Dragonite - Saw one 932 CP and literally pulled over on the side of the road to catch it. Only had poke balls at the time so you know how that ended.
I'm really bad at letting the rare ones go.

Unfortunately I am team Instinct so I have to do hit and run tactics if I ever want any Pokecoins. So I usually take 1 gym, 2 if they are close together, claim my 10-20 coins and peace out.

I'm level 15 and I've already hatched two 10k in addition to those 4. I've only gotten 3-4 2k eggs. I need to get exercising

I caught a 1005 Snorlax with regular pokeballs last night

10k eggs can have some real crappy stuff in there, though. I want no part of Jynx, Scyther, Pinsir, Electabuzz (unless strong as hell - need something to fight the waters around here) or Onix. I'd even prefer Eevee, Dratini, Kabuto, or Omanyte just for candy.
