Saints Row IV $50 on steam
Saints Row IV $60 on consoles
The platform without a used market gets it for $10 cheaper at launch. Games also get cheaper much quicker on PC. I bought a copy of The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition for $6 today for PC. The price of the used game at Gamestop right now is $28. Now, which one would you prefer? Do you love used games that much that you'd rather pay that much more for them? Even when not on a summer sale, a BRAND NEW copy of The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition on PC is $20, still cheaper than a used copy at Gamestop.
This is really all that needs to be said here.

Any word on if kinect is still required to be online in order to use the debone? Did this change?
Geez you people don't pay attention. You can turn the fricker off. They have said that from day one.
Posted on 6/19/13 at 5:35 pm to SG_Geaux
Yes it can be turned OFF, but you still had to have it ON when gaming or going online. In order to use truly use the xbone, the kinect had to be on.It was a point I made like ... What if your dog or cat just so happened to chew the kinect wire ? New xbone purchase necessary? Can someone provide a link to prove me wrong because I'd actually love to be wrong
Lol and you act like xbone's pr team did a marvelous job at explaining how their whole model worked to begin with. There were questions all over the place

You can't have the Kinect off while using the One?
Yes you can.
If you meant that the other way around in that you can't have the Kinect off while using the Kinect then no one here can help you.

As for the very last bastion of Microsoft’s ruthless policies, it doesn’t seem like the Kinect policy has changed — you’ll still need to keep your Kinect plugged into your Xbox One if you want to play your games. This, though, wasn’t ever really too terrible to begin with since you can just drop a towel over your Kinect or stuff it into a drawer if you’re that paranoid.

Plugged in but XBox said way back that you can disable the camera on it.
Unless that was miscommunicated or has also changed.

Yes. It does.

Or don't listen to Tom that has yet to give one good reason why it wouldn't/won't work.
I have yet to see a good reason it will work. The only tasks I've heard anyone claim it can do are server-side tasks. You know, the kind of thing that servers have been doing for years.
Just a tiny amount of common sense would tell you that if this were truly a game-changer, Microsoft would be heavily promoting what would be one of the few advantages of their new console. And yet, aside from passing mention in their original presentation and an interview, there has been nothing about it. No one has seen it in action.
And please bring up your Onlive argument again. Onlive is sparkling proof why it will not work. Latency means that you will not be able to count on getting calculations back from the servers in a reasonable amount of time. And if you can't count on getting calculations back in almost every situation, you can't count on doing them on the server side. Now that Microsoft rolled over and gave up their always on requirement, you can't count on any calculations at all.

That was only said to support the fact that it wouldn't always be "listening" like you could turn it off, while it (the xbone console) was off. But until someone proves me wrong with a link, the thing can't straight up be unplugged and off entirely when using the Xbone to game or app play

You won't see steam type sales on consoles.
Steam has competition with other sites and piracy

They have pimped the shite out of it actually if you read any number of articles they have put out and they demoed it at E3 with Forza. Not in their original show but on the E3 floor. You can find videos of it on Youtube and full articles about it.

That's why they have said time and time again it will be stuff the doesn't require high priority or low pings.
Do you not think for a second that engineers that know way more than you haven't already researched it and know what it can and can't do?
Do you also think it won't be ever evolving to allow more efficient use of it going forward?

Not now.

What sites? There is nothing else out there like Steam. Most other sites sell keys to use on Steam actually.

and piracy
I read a while back that the percentage of PC game piracy overall has actually dropped since Steam has started their cheaper games on release day and massive sales model. Same with movie piracy and Netflix streaming. You can look it up.

the TD admins need to just go ahead and make this statement one of those ": :"
....because everyone on the Gaming Board apparently knows more about, well everything, than Sony and Microsoft.

Working in an office using Windows all day qualifies everyone to be a programmer and network engineer/architect...duh!

They might actually do that. There is no way I'd bet on any action Microsoft may or may not take at this point.

Those people are probably not regretting their decision. MS still tried to be anti-consumer. They only reason they're not is because Sony forced their hand. Many people will remember that MS's position is, "we would frick you so hard if we could get away with it

They'll include it in most games. It just won't be significantly improving performance.

I'm sure they have. Unfortunately I know enough about it to know they are blowing smoke up my arse.

Probably, but it will remain marginally useful for the forseeable future.
