Lol no. Look they saw the preorder numbers, they saw the backlash
You were in on the meetings? Give us some more scoop.

The damn amazon preorder numbers showed 5% of people ordered or were going to order Xbox one. 5%!!
What in the hell does this even mean?

Why would they go back to drm model?
IMO, what they were offering before today's actions made the console more attractive. Push the industry to a steam model, family share, and access your games from any xbone. Honestly, the PS4 looks better to me now. If PSN comes out with dedicated servers for all co-op and multiplayer games, it's over. Until then, I'll stick it out with Xbone and Xbox Live.

I'll welcome you with open arms FWIW

save the tissues. I don't think PSN is going to do it. At least not anytime soon. They would have already played that card. In fact, I was watching a developer interview from E3 and he said that Xbox was setting themselves apart from the competition with online play and dedicated servers.
Speaking of dedicated servers. How nice is it going to be to not host migrate every 30 seconds when the opposing team is losing?

Or no host advantage

Cliffy B (formerly of Epic Games for the last 20 years, created Gears of War and many other titles) has been going off on Twitter about the complete 180 today but I think this sums it all up.
All kidding aside he brings up some good points. He says he has seen the numbers of unique gamertags vs the amount of games actually sold and "it isn't good". If things keep going this way and with consoles offering no DRM to help publishers he also says you will see more PC exclusives (because they can control their product on Steam I assume and no used game market) and also some devs and publishers even concentrating more on mobile games which again offers some form of DRM.

The MS Azzure network that Xbox is using will also host BF4 on Xbox One instead of EAs servers. It's one of the fastest and largest networks in the world besides googles. I think it and Google's network are the only two networks in the USA that truly fit the definition of a cloud. Pretty good chance you could actually get an even lower ping on it than you currently do on BF3.
Just saying the benefit of it isn't just limited to CoD.

I legitimately have no idea what you're talking about

He makes very good points.
I bet the same people bitching all over reddit about Microsoft being the devil will also bitch when all these cookie cutter FPS games come out and games have less content so they can sell it to you later. If you want games to be better and less DLC-heavy then stop fricking over the publishers by bitching about your used games.

Brace yourselves. More tacked on multiplayer and DLC are coming.

You're also about to see available microtransactions skyrocket. HATS FOR EVERYONE.

God you're terrible.

I'm terrible because waiting 15 seconds to host migrate doesn't bother me?

That's not even the biggest issue with a P2P hosted connection in a multiplayer game.

Or just get into pc gaming. Since its much easier to do instead of acting like your unique decision is going to influence anytning. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy capcom style games that have dlc already on the disc

That's what Cliffy B is saying. Publishers and devs will cater to where they can make money. If they can't make money on console because of used games then that means more will focus their efforts on PC and mobile games even with console being secondary if at all.
Cheaper Steam prices will also mean more people making the switch as has been the trend for the past few years and even more so the past year.
None of it = good for consoles in general.
