Thankfully it's just been normals lately, but still. I feel like I'm just wasting 30 mins of my time when the enemy carries are hitting double digit kills before 15-20 mins 
Problem is, I can't find more than 2 other people to play with at any given time. Getting a 4-5 man premade gets rid of the only issue I really have.

It's because me skiza rizer and mcshitty quit playing. Rizer just disappeared off the face of the earth.

rizer quiting was one of the bigger knocks to me playing, I always really enjoying duo'ing with him - also a friend of mine who actually got me to start playing LoL quit around the same time rizer did as well

Bob and I just played one. We got 2 towers in 10 mins, got first blood early, but our troll support starts flaming our adc for no reason, and our bot lane goes 4/20 at 15 mins, our supp continues to troll and doesn't help in team fights and intentionally starts feeding.
We wound up losing the game.
I don't know what else to do.

He started playing the Rainbow Six game I think and the flood probably did keep him away from league after that like you said.
Right now, I'd rather just play 4-5 man premade normals. People are literally wanting to "ff" 4 mins into the game. It's just awful.

Switched from Tryn/Darius over to Shen top and Ziggs mid. Hit a decent winning streak to Silver 5.
The skill gap seems to be shrinking in the matchups, toxicity is still a bit of a problem early, but I think things are getting better.

True... end of season 5 I started... played ranked in season 6. But it's a game... just a game. I'm a coach, I know what I know and don't try to kid myself when I don't. Always willing to listen to advice.

It's been hit or miss with my teams but its whatever. I can't complain when I play things like Nasus/gragas mid.

Got to B1.. had a few winning streaks coupled with a few losing streaks, but I'm nearing Silver. My matches have gotten much better in the past week or so.

Where you ended last season has more of an effect on where you get placed than the actual placement matches.
You have almost zero chance of getting placed where you ended last season, even if you go 10-0. Expect to be dropped a full division no matter what you do in placements.
