I finished S2 or S3 last year, I can't remember. Just to give an example.

Seems about right then.

Was Gold V, started at Bronze 1 this season.

I don't mind the grind. Low skill, lack of game knowledge, poor mechanics....all things I can live with losing/winning games.

What pisses me off to no end are people who intentionally join games to ruin it for the other 4 members of the team and people who lose their minds, tilt and give up 3 minutes into the game because they died once.

How bad did you do in your placements? I was G4 and placed S3 going 5-5.

I honestly can't remember. I think I MIGHT have won 4 games. No more than that.

My placements were a disaster. Every single game, (win or lose) was an absolute stomp where the losing team had multiple trolls or afk's in all 10 games.

At the end of the day I'll end up ranked where I deserve to be by season's end. So I'm not overly concerned with starting Bronze 1 (Currently silver 5)

Preach! I had a guy on our team (which was winning) feed because our Jungle wouldn't give him the red buff towards the end of the game. We ended up losing.

He wanted to prove a point that a red buff is less useful end game for a Jungle than it was for an ADC. Which may be the case, I don't know, but to lose a game over it that could have coasted to victory is a little ridiculous..

Had something similar happen.

We had a ziggs mid, and I can't remember what I was (adc possibly, maybe top).

We were stealing enemy blue, but as we started, the enemy mid laner and jungle came over to contest. So instead of risking it, I was attacking the enemy blue along with ziggs and took it to ensure their lux or jungler didn't get it.

The ziggs, stops, starts typing about how big of a dick I was, dies while he's typing, then tells us "good luck", then afk's. We were winning this game handily, but wound up losing because this dude dc's over the buff.

What's crazy, is that our blue buff had just spawned as well, so he could have gotten it anyway.

This game makes me rethink my stance on abortion with a lot of the people I encounter on a daily basis.

Another favorite of mine is teammates are in Silver 4 and 5, flaming people for being in Bronze 1 or 2.

I'm also pretty sure 95% of people who play ranked dont play their champion before playing ranked.

It's unreal how bad some people are with the champions they pick.

Down 20-7 before 18 mins because this Ezreal had 38 farm at 12 minutes. People are just bad at this game.

My game this morning - I get auto-filled jungle when I choose Mid/Top, I ask the Mid to switch (I didn't care if he said no) and he responded with "eh, I jungle a lot, I'm going to try something new and play mid." Went like 0/9/6 as Annie.

This makes sense in norms. Makes zero sense in ranked to play a role/champion you're unfamiliar with.

A lot of us aren't that bad. We just don't play enough games.... or play too many champions to really climb high on the ladder.

Many people in high elo are either OTP's or play tons of games.
I was watching an Anklespankin video the other day, and he had roughly 4k games played on his main account. But, he also has multiple other accounts and a PBE account.

I don't have 150 ranked games played ever, and I might only have 1,500 games played total since I started playing. And I easily had over a 65% win rate climbing out of Silver (and over 80% when I went OTP). I still have a lot of fun playing. And there's nothing wrong with being Bronze/Silver/Gold... whatever.
If you are a better player than your elo, then you get to have fun stomping newbs.
I've played a few games with/against diamond players, and I did just fine.

It's the players that think they are better than they really are that ruin the game. Trolling, raging, afk'ing, whining, whatever. They should just shut up and have fun.

I didn't mean to insinuate we were absolute trash, but I don't think anyone in this thread is master or challenger caliber.

I personally feel like if all I did outside of work and sleep was play this game, I could get plat, MAYBE.

But quite frankly, as much as I like to be competitive in this game, I don't want it to become a chore.

This is the main issue. People go into games with their expectations too high because they over value their skill set.

Agreed. This is why I occasionally drop ranked and play normals for a while. I also prefer playing with one or more people I know rather than 4 randoms.

I wish we had enough people on regularly that we could do 5v5 pick ups games against each other. Would be nice to be able to point out things to each other that we can improve upon.

If we ever have enough people, I have a vent server with separate channels we can use.

I've played a few games with one of our upper players, and I got some advice in the past.
Did pretty good for the most part, but I was shown some areas to work on. Made me a much better player, quite quickly.

Group sooner. Split push less. Think of the rotations 1-2min earlier. Learn how to manipulate the lane wave and/or prep a push wave.

Things that you watch the pros do, but don't know why they do it. I often watch streams and think of what I would do, note when they do different things, and try to figure out why.
If our high elo players would spend some time helping the rest of us out, we all would get a lot better.
(Not saying they should spend their valuable time helping/coaching us. Just saying, that I think it would help. And maybe the 5v5's would be kinda fun.)

Out of all the stupid shite Riot has come up with, autofill has to be the worst.

If a role is THAT shitty, that you have to build in a mechanism to FORCE people into it, then how about you revamp the role or incentivize it?

Sit through an entire champ select, someone dodges, then you get stuck with support. Not to mention the poor ADC's who get stuck with people who don't even own a support champ

Almost out of Bronze.. got into promos this morning.

Oh, and yeah autofill sucks. Although I don't mind playing sup every now and then.. so sometimes it's a nice surprise.

I really don't mind autofill that much either. I rarely even get autofilled to support anyways. I would much rather play support 1 out of every 10 games than sit in 10 minute queues every single game.

I feel like the addition of items like redemption can make playing support more rewarding but idk.

I went like 5-5 in my placements and got put in Silver 5 after finishing ranked last season in Gold 4. I'm sure over the course of a few months I'll work my way back up to Gold 5 and stay there until the end of this season.

I still enjoy the game for what it is, but it would be more fun if we could do more 5s games from the Gaming board. I haven't been able to get on as much lately bc of the holidays and moving BS, but I should be on more after mid January.

If I'm in queue and someone dodges, I'm 100% getting autofilled to support.

I just don't think most people would mind waiting the extra 5-10 mins. 9 times out of 10, the autofill support has no idea what they are doing and it absolutely fricks up your bottom lane. I just think it dumb to force players into that role instead of incentivizing it.

Strange, that doesn't happen to me too often. I get my secondary a LOT though. Usually main mid with second pick jungle or top, I'll get the secondary with a dodge about 80% of the time.

If I get auto filled the first time when someone dodges, I'm basically locked in though, doesn't matter how many chain-dodges I get I'll be support.

I have been AFed to top once, everything else has been support.

I was auto filled to adc a couple weeks ago. That lane is just so hit or miss with your lane partner.

My best advice is to learn a support that can carry a lane or lead the game in damage. Velkoz, brand, and Zyra are good ap options with leona or Blitz as more traditional supports. When I play adc I also typically prefer these types of supports to the janna's and soraka's.
