I still haven't found my niche. I definitely like laning as opposed to jungling. I have never played mid, only top as a yi and garen and been successful, and bot with teemo or ash. I think my biggest issue I have now is last shoting creeps.
I have played to many games with no tanks. Any suggestion on a few to try?

I definitely like laning as opposed to jungling.
But what I've started to notice is that it's really hard for me to carry from the jungle. I need a laner that I can help snowball or for us to not be very far behind to give us a chance.
Laning isn't as appealing to me b/c cs'ing for 10-20min is boring, but you can have a substantial effect on the game and carry if needed.

Shyvana isn't a great laner b/c her burnout isn't good for cs'ing early, but her position in the meta and tankiness is good.
Jax is a good bruiser that can carry from top lane.

Say what you want, but I had first pick and told everyone what I was doing. They were fine with it.
Our Vi Jungle went damage build and our support refused to pick tanky.
It was a normal, so no harm no foul.

I like a Vi, Elise, Jax jungle to try to carry as much as the next guy.
But, if I see my team comp is squishy. It doesn't matter how much damage they put out if they just melt when they get dove.

Thank you for showing me the light, Bjergsen. I still think BT is better if you're forcing 1v1's with a split push just for the sheer AD boost, but in team fights...Jesus...Hydra is nasty.

I own Nunu and Naut. I don't play top lane ever. I bought teemo to use as a support (got tired of playing the same ole champs), and it's been working quite well.
Thresh was banned, but Leona and Volibear were still available.
If the team needed a tank, I would have done it myself. But since I was first pick and wanted to try teemo top, I figured someone else would have gone tank since they were ok with my pick.
I generally go thresh or leona as support. Great tanks into later game.

Jungler should have known better.
Jungler/top are usually tanks. So, if top doesn't go tank, jungler has to.
But, I don't ever blame the support. He's got a job to do. Shield ADC, CC, peel, whatever. His job is protect and feed ADC.
If the support likes a tanky player, like a leona or thresh, that's just a bonus.

Everyone knocks them but I have turtle beach. The 50$ or so pair. Very comfortable and serve their purpose.
As for lol
I will be jungling in ranked from now on. I'm ok at adc and a good support, but it too difficult to carry at support. I feel I can do more by counter jungling, fanning and split pushing.

ADC/Mid-Assassins got nerfed with the new defense masteries & tank & support meta. You are just too squishy if they dive you, and the tanks live forever.
Jungling is alright, but you just don't get the gold generation that a top/mid/adc does. So, even counter-jungling, pushing turrets down, and trying to make a difference as a tank/carry isn't enough if the laners don't do their part.
You can lose it as ADC/Support/Jungle, but I'm not sure you can win it.

My champ pool and experience top and mid is pretty slim. I'm trying to build up more champs for those lanes to practice with. When you sup you rely on getting a competent adc and vice versa. When I jungle I can take care of my business and make plays in other lanes.
My tb's were a gift (free) so that makes them good for me.

You can get these at Wal-Mart. I love them and you get a really good product for a cheap price.
Side note, I am now 2-0 in ranked
Went 19/3/11 as Teemo top.

I started playing again last week after trying it out a few years ago. I fricking hate Teemo my knowledge is pretty limited at this point but I usually go adc or top. I suck at mid and I've never tried jungling or support
