Not to mention it all starts with a virus. I agree that I don't see the big deal either as long as it's not cookie cutter like the other 100 zombie games out there.

I'm sure the zombie "mechanics" will be very similar to other games...I don't think there is much you can do outside of the box with zombies.

I meant mindless shooting and bashing zombies arcade style like Left 4 Dead or Dead Island. That can be fun as I like both those games but I would be disappointed if after all the hype this game has gotten that it felt arcade like in that way.

from wut ive gathered,
the virus advances
ones who have more recently turned, bear more resemlance to humans.
but as the virus takes over the brain and advances states, difference senses become affected.
some have super hearing, super smells, etc.
I may be off on specifics, but, point being, in each encounter you will probably have to figure out what type of infected are in your way and the best plan of action depending on available resources.
Not just "mow them all down with a fully aut AR"

It sounds right to me. The infected that really debilitated require different tactics as most melee attacks because useless.

i went and looked it up
yeah... five stages (at least?).
Runners, Stalkers, Clickers , bloaters, and spore cadaves
possible spoilers for those who want to "go in blind" to the game. this is old info i just wanted to reread it

a slight taste:

Runners have very weak eyesight, while clickers have no eyesight whatsoever, due to the fungus growing through their eye sockets. Clickers got their nickname through the clicking noise they make, since they use echolocation to "see". They may also have an enhanced sense of smell, because of how quickly they located the dead survivor in the launch trailer, and dead runners.
quote:
The runners retain a sense of humanity and morality. They know what they are doing is wrong, but due to the mentally deteriorating symptoms of the fungus, their minds are slowly destroyed.

apparently a Bloater can take a Molotov cocktail to the face and walk it off
cant wait to see the tactics that will be required to take down those bad boys.

Jeff I havent kept up, or read anything about this game... but I have 2 questions
1. Will this be like Uncharted series, meaning run/shoot/hide/cut sceen?
2. Should I buy it?

Probably similar to uc
More strategy required though. I never played uc. tlou seems wayyyy more appealing, to me, though
I play sp games slowly, so 60 for me is nbd. But if you can beat a sp game in a weekend, might not be worth a buy. a rental or pool your money with your podnuhs and share a copy

NOT A ZOMBIE GAME
A game built around a mysterious virus that turns people murder crazy and the ones that are far gone mutate into more deadly versions. Resources and allies are scarce and the few people left are just looking for a way out / survival along with their personal demon-exercising?
how is this

NOT A ZOMBIE GAME
Not complaining but that's what it really is. It is obviously deeper than most, but still, it is a zombie game.

Title of the article he linked is
So it's all semantics really. Zombie game, not a zombie game. REALLY GOOD GAME is all that matters.
