Gamespot only gave it an 80? I remember when they did the same thing with Metal Gear Solid back in the day.

It’s a bona fide, genre-defining, once-or-twice-a-generation Big Deal; the game Naughty Dog has always threatened to make but never really delivered
I just want to go to sleep and wake up on the 14th.

It combines DNA strands from across the genre, yet reworks and recontextualises them to become far more than the sum of its parts. Its storytelling is peerless, as affecting and multi-layered as it is grounded, underplayed and real. In terms of everything the modern action game has strived to be, The Last of Us is the full-stop at the end of the sentence, leaving no more to be said. Until next-gen. If this is our starting point for that, then the next five to ten years could be truly amazing.
ND studio must be jizz'ing in their pants right now. Talk about being applauded for your hardwork.

Holy shite. This is what I have been waiting for. This game felt like it had potential. I'm so fricking excited now after reading some of these reviews. PS3 does it again. Makes it even better its just on one console.

Friday.
I haven't bought a game in a while but I thought it use to be Tuesday's?

Tuesday is the usual release date. But just like movies, games will occasionally release on another day, like a horror movie releasing on Halloween, even though it's on a Wednesday, for example.
Skyrim had a Friday release as well.
