So I was exploring last night and came upon a Mr. Handy colony, where all the Mr Handies are pruning plants. I'm in sneak mode, and when I get close to one of the Mr. Handies I have the option to pickpocket for some fuel.
First one went off without a hitch. Pick pocketed 8 fuel. Tried it on the overseer of the plantation and an army of Mr. Handies starts chasing me! I thought no big deal, I can out run these things..
They chased me for 10 minutes and wouldn't stop. Eventually I had to use my pip boy to eat some food for nourishment, and when I come back to the game, boom. A super mutant suicide bomber is standing right next to me and blows himself up, killing everyone.
I love this game.

Question: The cryomaster is locked behind that case in vault 111. Do you know when I'll be skilled enough to pick the lock and get it out?

Heard bad things about the story. Just not up to Fallout standards.
True?

I assume when you can unlock Master locksmith at level 18? I think that's what it required but not positive.

I only played for about an hour last night. Didn't get into the story much. Plan on playing a lot after work this afternoon. I didn't play the other ones though, so I have no base for comparison. I'm enjoying it so far.

I played for 5 hours and got to the point of establishing the settlement.
I encountered my first bug when the dialog popped up to type in my name. It locked up there and wouldn't let me type, exit, or even use my home button on the controller to restart the game. I had to do a hard reboot.
Second bug was with crafting. The craft button was disabled like I didn't have the item in an acceptable position to be placed. I searched forever trying to figure out how to "unlock" crafting and then realized that it was just a bug. Hard reset fixed it. Placing items is still kind of glitchy.
I'm on xbox and haven't had any framerate issues at all yet.
Even with the bugs, I'm having a freakin blast. The settlement/crafting aspect is going to destroy me. I'll have to stop at some point and play the story

Same thing happened to me, but I felt bad leaving to play the story if the settlement didn't have food and water.

Not me. I just lose myself in the side missions. I do 3-4 side missions then have to force myself to do a main mission.

Does anybody know if by joining the minutemen I will miss out on joining another faction?

i haven't heard anything of the sort.
the reviews i have read or heard are that it is very fullfulling and makes your really question your video game morals of what is human and what is not.
at the same time, most say it takes a few hours of storyline to really get to the good stuff.

Can someone get me a dog real quick and kill him for me?

Has this game scared anyone yet? I haven't done any of the story yet and already have 8 hours played
Anyway, I found the Boston Mayor's bunker which is huge. All is well..no enemies and then all of a sudden it looked like a scene out of iRobot with all of these creepy fricking synthetics trying to rape me. I finally clear through them all after dying at least 8 times and a deathclaw is sitting there waiting for me in a tunnel. I don't think a game has ever scared me but holy frick my stomach dropped when I saw him
This game is fricking awesome

speaking of dogs, I swapped him out for codsworth and he shits on kids, if its close quarters codsworth will chop them to bits with his saw or flamethrower everyone in the room. way better than the dog.
Yep..frick the dog. Codsworth is a boss and I'm pretty sure he can't die.
Another thing I'm absolutely loving is how useful junk is now.

There were some jump scares when I got attacked in Cult Caves when I played Morrowind that had me creeped out.

I thought BioShock Infinite was bad on my "check everything for loot" OCD, this game is going to kill me. I ignored it in previous FO games because a lot of it was worthless.

I just awoke from involuntary cryosleep and watched my wife get shot 10 feet from me and some post apocalyptic marauder take my infant son. Better stuff my pockets with ashtrays and coffee mugs.

I've already got clearance to leave at 3.
Kind of hoping I pull up as soon as it gets there
