We're all so apathetic towards DLC practices these days. People used to get pissed over on disk DLC and now we don't even get disks

I think it's stupid but at the same time, Ubisoft is off has done this with literally every AC since at least AC Origins. Look at Koei Te Mo and DOA6

Yeah and while the weapons do have unique perks, those packs are mostly cosmetic. Also, since they removed multiplayer, there's no P2W aspect. I actually appreciate that they make the resource packs available for purchase. Some people don't have time to farm mats but still want to max out their gear/ship, so let them spend money if they want.

The one major change I'd make is to make it possible to farm in-game currency to buy the DLC packs. Helldivers 2 does this well. You can buy the new DLCs they release with actual money or you can buy them with in-game currency that you collect by playing the game.

This is a pretty dumbass complaint. Why would you need to buy all the skins when you can only use one?

Honestly shouldnt buy any of them but if you HAVE to have one, just pick one. Those are just skins tho mostly. They put those out so that if you love the game so much, you can buy one and it acts as leaving a tip

Ubisoft tasting real tangible non manufactured success for the first time in what feels like a decade.

Likely won’t be enough to save them but I am kind of happy to see them stumble into doing something well

Is the weird hair a symptom of the game using engine-generated lighting instead of baked in lighting?

Seeing this more and more with games.

I installed a mod on PC to get rid of the yellow tint filter. So much better imo

I'm loving the remake, but it's been a few years since I played an AC game and I forgot how much of a time suck they are.

It's like, oh, let me just grab this chest before I continue with the main mission, and before you know it, 3 hours have gone by because I keep trying to collect every piece of loot on the map

I recently played Odyssey and I feel like they had the control schemes perfect for those and then you go back to this and it's kinda rough. That, and I miss having my bird flying over to see everything.

What I'm not looking forward to. The sailing in Odyssey is so good, and if Alexios wasn't such a meathead, it's a near perfect game IMO.

I know a lot of you didn't dig into Shadows much, if at all, but you can tell this game was either developed along side Shadows or was a roadmap on how to remake it. A lot of the interface is exactly the same, holding RT to tag targets and items of interest, holding down the right stick for eagle view.

I haven’t played this, but generally speaking, hair issues are due to the fact that hair is no longer a singular asset, but instead has a bunch of individual, extremely thin assets. If you are running an upscaler, it tends to utterly frick that up, making the hair look awful. As you mentioned, it’s become annoyingly common in the last few years. Honestly, I wish games would give an option to turn off dynamic hair.

I'm still not convinced modern Ubisoft can make games anymore when you take into account that story, concept, and mission design were all done by a much more talented team over a decade ago in 2013. We already know the engine modern AC games run on is capable of some very impressive visuals.

Given the success of this title, Ubisoft should know what the blueprint is, but I don't think they, as they exist today, can execute when left to their own devices.
