I'm one of the lucky few that has no idea what oblivion is about (I played Skyrim) so this is like a new Elder Scrolls game dropping for me

Skyrim was amazing. It’s better? That’s one of those games I’ve beaten and still play occasionally 14 years later

I would put it above Skyrim. The quest lines/guilds are so much better and feel more meaningful. Not taking anything away from Skyrim, but you will see when you play.
I too still fire up Skyrim from time to time, but couldn’t do that with Oblivion being a PS5 guy.

Loved the game and wouldn't mind playing a remastered version, but only if they added a lot more VOs from different actors to it. The original had something like only 12 or and they did the VOs for every NPC in the game (which is why a lot of the VOs repeat among different characters).

Hopefully they revamped the leveling system. Skyrim did it a lot better imo. It was pretty silly to have to level up other skills to make sure you didn’t fall behind the enemy levels

oblivion was good, but lots of mechanics were bad, especially fighting.

I would always make sneak a minor skill and max it out in the first Aleyid ruin you see when you exit the sewers. There's a wall with a ghost or zombie behind it that can only be opened with a switch. Rubber band or a weight on the keyboard and check back in a couple of hours. Max sneak = God mode.

One if the QoL things I mod into the game is either a straight +3 or +4 (I can’t remember which) every level instead of having to do that dance. I genuinely don’t know why they thought that shite was a good idea
