I don't think it's bad. I just think that I'm personally at a point with games where I'm asking "why do we need 128 players in a server?" I guess I feel like I'm an Insurgency Sandstorm kind of gamer these days. I long for a game like that...or Warfighter.

I would rather a game that's smaller in scope and delivers on awesome gunplay and rewarding team play.

I don't hate it. I just am not feeling it. But the chopper. Man the chopper is fun.

To the extent of WZ? Not even close.

Plus, it’s entirely different dying from a hacker in a BR, especially in WZ where dropping into a new game takes minutes, versus dying to a hacker in a respawn mode.

Did the source code for 2042 get accessed by hackers recently? If so, it could make for a rough life cycle for this game

I seriously doubt that I'm spending any money on this.

How do you invite PC players to party if you’re on Xbox?

Why is this game so fun?

It's got that Battlefeel other games just can't capture. And I missed it. Agree with others it feels like BF4.

I'm tired of playing this map 100 times though. Got tired of it in the tech test now here we are again. Hope they drop a classic map or different mode at some point this weekend.

No crossplay parties in the beta. Just full game.

I only played for like 10 minutes during my lunch earlier.

But those 10 minutes told me I’m about to spend an absurd amount of hours on the Beta the next few nights.

I'm glad the community is giving rave reviews. I had a feeling that would be the case after the tech test. Especially with how bad Vanguard is/was and now getting thrown into a real game.

PCGamer nails it for the tride and true Battlefielder.

The Battlefield 2042 beta reminded me why I love Battlefield

quote:

"Hell yeah," I thought, "finally a proper Battlefield game."

My first hours in Battlefield 2042's upcoming open beta were the wakeup call I needed. Battlefield is back to what it does best. Guns hit like a sack of bricks, jets rattle my ears with bassy roars, and it all looks drop-dead gorgeous in action.

Battlefield 2042, in a lot of ways, feels like a comfortable return to the stuff that made BF3 and BF4 so good—everything from its guns, sounds, vehicles, and maps seem cut from the same cloth

That's the point of reddit...

You'll do better to read real person stuff off twitter hashtags than reading a subreddit.

Community is overwhelmingly enjoying it. BF is back baby.

quote:

The Battlefield 2042 beta peaked at 127,114 concurrent players on Steam shortly after launching in the wee hours this morning, as SteamDB shows. That makes it the seventh-biggest game on the platform today, and #71 on the all-time list. And that’s not even counting the players who are jumping in on Origin, Epic, or the consoles.

It’s safe to expect that number to get much larger as the open beta goes, you know, open.

i never really understood what this game brought to the table that other shooters didn't.

other than destructible environments, it's pretty much a long distance sniper simulator. everything else is your basic FPS mechanics.

CoD is the little kids version. Run n gun teammates don't matter with graphics from PS3 era.

Battlefeel is something you feel in the game. Hard to explain.

I feel like you're doing a bit. But, the beta (rough edges aside) is pretty underwhelming. It's not very good if this is a representation of what the next Battlefield game will be.

You wanted to dislike from the get go so feels like you're just continuing that shtick as well.

Being received super well in reviews and social media. Battlefield interest is at an all time high right now.

Feels like BF4 and that's fantastic.
