Why be guilty?

Best console out there if you game on an HTPC/PC also. The WiiU and 3DS are great.

Just an expression. Don't actually feel guilty about it.

Really enjoy it and the 3ds

I'm sitting in the PC-WiiU-3DS crowd at the moment. PS4 might be on the horizon in a year or so once I graduate and start making some money. Right now Nintendo and Steam offer more than enough to occupy any free time I might have.

I like the Wii U more than the Wii fwiw. I own one and love it. Best system I've owned since the GC/PS2 Years.

I wish I would have saved the money and purchased a WiiU over this PS4 for my console choice.

PC-SteamBox-3DS-WiiU is the ultimate combo for gamers right now.

Would be missing out on Destiny. I suppose it all comes down to preference, but I would take Halo 5 and Destiny over the entire WiiU library in a second.

I love my Wii U/3ds as a primarily PC gamer. There is no xbox one/ps4 in my future until I see several exclusive games worth having on one or the other.

I feel bad for Nintendo because they are in a tight position. I think they do what they have always done, but are obviously being hurt by not catering to the new gaming crowd that has appeared over the last decade.

I applaud what they do, but at the same time I don't want them to disappear someday.

Well said.

I mean, honest question:

If Nintendo made a "proper" console as it's outlined, on par with MS and Sony, would they suddenly blow the industry up? Would those gamers ditch their respective consoles for it?

Honestly, no. There really is absolutely no reason to have a 3rd console like the "proper" ones anyway. The differences between the PS4 and Xbox One can be considered only minor at this point.

I think what nintendo is doing is fine, but they messed up the early release schedule of the Wii U and it's pretty clear that the marketing for the system was atrocious. If the appeal of their console is going to be mostly first party content, they need way more teams working on games.

I know the 25+ yr old gamers would.

Its really the lack of any type of damn library.

Those little APUs inside the WiiU and PS4/XBONE aren't worlds apart like some believe. The problem Nintendo has with game titles is their FAILER TO IDENTIFY the other top players BOTH moving to x86.

WiiU is the lone dog left to die, what developers will work on WiiU titles instead of working on a title for both the more popular consoles. The answer is none, they will finish x86 based games for the PS4/XBONE and get to WiiU titles "when they have time".

If Nintendo would have made the WiiU x86 based then their library would be full of titles on par with PS4/XBONE and they wouldn't be this far into the position they are in.

Would they really give up Halo, God of War, Last of Us, Jak and Dexter (which unbeknownst to me is a "classic"...?), Resistance, Forza, The Show, etc.....?

From what I've seen, I doubt it. There's an interesting article that I'm looking for that is all about the console war as a machination of Western publishers to push Nintendo out. While it's a bit tin foil, it makes some sense, maybe not as a completely controlled effort but more as an eventuality of anti-Nintendo sentiment.

And an irrational fear of keyboards and mice, yeah.

I mean, in theory you would think they would notice Nintendo in tha scenario. But look at the ruckus over the PS4 and XB1. Battle lines were drawn, you just don't give up mentally at that point.

Case in point, the Gamecube was more powerful than the PS2 and slightly less than powerful than the XBox. It had great first parties (including a Starfox and F-Zero!!!) and most third party offerings minus GTA and some shooters. "Gamers" stayed far away and until the Wii U it was Nintendo's worst performing console (and honestly if the Wii U could see GC levels of success, Nintendo would probably consider that a success).

So does it work?

You can use a controller.

I can't type much right now but we are getting off base of what I was trying to say.
