It's not like people are going to stop playing games. They can't make whatever bad decisions they want and enough people out there are whales/shills so they'll still shovel over their money.

Gamers are naturally impatient people as well, so while you know a better deal might be months away - can you really wait that long to add another game to your backlog?

There was 3 but the other one wasn't released to the pubic leaked Reiko and Motaro footage.

They've apparently now confirmed that Scorpion is Kuai Liang in this game.

I'm also not a fan of that change. Don't understand why that would need to happen.

I really felt like they had an opportunity to explore things that were just backstory in the previous games, and they aren't. Instead we're seemingly not even getting Hanzo at all, at least not as Scorpion. Would have been great to see this game actually explore the rivalry between Bi Han and Hanzo, even if they reimagined how it went down and they ended up as friends instead of enslaved to Quan Chi.

Another thing I would have liked them to explore is the Outworld-Edenia tournament. Instead, King Jerrod is apparently already dead, Sindel is in charge, but they're calling it Outworld instead of Edenia. We're just going to skip all of that backstory completely? Would have been great to get Jerrod as a fighter and explore the Outworld-Edenia tournament.

ETA: The things they've announced about the story so far have somehow made me less excited for this game. Really didn't think that was possible.

Given the limited remaining roster slots, I'd say frustration with Geras, Tanya, and Li Mei announcements is pretty normal. The best announcement they've made since the initial fighter trailer with Johnny Cage, Liu Kang, etc has been the Kombat Pack that comes with the $100 premium edition. That's pretty lame imo.

I'm betting they make further announcements at evo next weekend. Hopefully we see some more classic characters announced for the main roster. Sonya, Kano, Jax, Kabal, Reptile, Jade, Cyrax, Sektor, Nightwolf, Fujin, Shinnok. Shang Tsung is a preorder exclusive and Ermac and Quan Chi are Premium Edition fighters.

I'm thinking there are like 4-5 slots left so I guess they're just leaving these characters (some that have become staples) for kameos/DLC or out of the game completely.

Sindel and Shao are likely taking up at least one of the remaining core fighter slots, maybe 2. Heavy rumors that Ferra (of Ferra/Tor) will be a kameo fighter. They usually also have at least one new fighter for each game, so that would take at least one of those other slots but maybe they aren't doing that this time.

I'm just doing the math here. I guess it's too much to hope that fan favorite characters won't be relegated to DLC, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I got the premium edition because I had a $100 Game Stop gift card. Probably wouldn't be getting this game at all if not for that. I hope they blow us away with these last few roster slots.

Reptile, Havik, Sareena, Ashrah

Reptile is a shape-shifter, which is pretty dang cool.

Also, with his announcement, all of the original color-swap ninjas are in the game.

ETA: Looks like Sareena is a kameo character.

Maybe Hanzo has/or will take the role of Noob Saibot in this version.
