I want this game badly, but I will wait for the edition that has all the DLC, and for a sale. Guess that'll be about two years from now.

Yeah I don't play fighting games online either. Too old for that shite. The only fighting game I really put a lot of time into online, essentially ever, was Dead or Alive 4 on 360. My God was that game amazing.

is Quan Chi is a good guy now?

I will mention just because I really got into fighting games seriously including online with Guilty Gear Strive in 2021, to be too old requires you to basically be on death's door

Most of the things people stereotypically assume they need to be super good at to be even remotely decent at fighting games are extremely overblown. Now if you don't want to bother just because it doesn't interest you, that's fine naturally. I just wouldn't avoid it because of your own difficulty perception because it's likely wrong to be honest.

There was a guy who played in Evo over the past weekend, the biggest FG tourney on the planet, who was blind, and he played like a relatively Gold rank SF6 player and actually won his set on stream. Youtube link for those interested.

I'll probably play MK1 casually. I'm not looking into it as a comp game since NRS balance tends to be a bit whack for my taste. That and NRS zoners are infamous.

Yeah Cetrion in MK11…MULTIPLE characters in Injustice 1&2. But they updated movement speed significantly and it seems like more characters have abilities to counter zoning this time.

I put A LOT of time into MK11 and INJ2. Still only averaged a 50% win rate. Fighting games take years and years to get good at, which is why I think there are so many casuals. Most of the top tier fighting game players that kick everyone’s asses online have been playing that shite since they were 9 or 10.


On another note: I’m loving a lot of the re-designs and character reworks they’re doing. Still not a fan of Scorp not being Hanzo but everything else they’ve done with Reptile, Baraka, Ashrah, and the Tarkatan disease has been great

I totally disagree with putting staples as DLC. Leaving Sonya and Kano off the base roster would be nothing more than a cash grab imo. Same as making Mileena a DLC character for MK11.

Couldn't care less about Jade, but I'm pretty sure she'll be announced as a base character since they've put basically every other original palette swap character in the game. They've even got Khameleon as a kameo.

I'm not sure I can agree that Li Mei looks great. She looks like they went out of their way to make her completely unattractive imo. Same with Tanya.

I've seen a rumor going around that Hanzo is Smoke in this game.

If that ends up being true, I wish they would have kept him as Scorpion and have Kuai Liang be Smoke instead.

I don't really have strong feelings about Smoke's identity being changed, but Hanzo not being Scorpion is just weird.

I was able to download the beta today using the code from my receipt. Can open the game, but can't click through the menu screen. Looking forward to this weekend.
