Anybody bought/played this?

I play the original PS3 version and the PS4 remaster.

I haven’t played part 2. I’m torn on playing part 2 or playing through this PS5 remark of part 1.

The little I’ve heard about part 2 has me a little turned off by it, but I really enjoyed the first one.

I mean do you want spoilers or not? The more you hear the more you'll be turned off.

Regardless, I can't fathom paying full price for another remake/remaster of a game that isn't even that old or dated in the least. The original PS3 version looks and plays perfect even today.

I agree with not paying full price. I may upgrade to the new one eventually but I am not paying $70-$80 bucks for a game that I already own and can play.

Sure but I’d argue that there are many many games that are almost unplayable at this point due to outdated platforms and ugly graphics.

Look at the Witcher series. I’d argue that 1 and 2 are almost unplayable but if updated to current gen would be outstanding.

Gameplay was great. Story was an abortion.

I would play part 2 and judge the story for yourself. I had issues with it and the pacing of the game in general. That being said, if you enjoy stealth combat, it's among the best imo.

Not yet, never played the original. I'm waiting for the PC port which is already confirmed and supposed to be "coming soon" after PS5 release according to one of the devs.

Just got a 3080 Ti and can't wait to play it.

Agreed. Thought pt 2 was amazing and didn’t get the hate.

So, apparently “Firefly Editions” of the game are arriving damaged and Sony/Naughty Dog are refusing to replace them.

I tried playing the remaster on two separate occasions but never made it very far. Maybe I’ll try again at some point

Last of us 2 was weird.

Last of Us 1 stands perfectly on its own however.

Both are showing serious age, but neither are really approaching unplayable, in my opinion.

With that said, unless they are remastered, I doubt I’ll ever play them again, so maybe I’m tilting at windmills a bit on this one

So what hs the diff between this and remastered? I get making it for the ps5 and maybe having better load times etc… but it’s exact same game and story right?

I thought it started kinda slow too (after the great intro). There is a specific point a couple of hours into the game where I think it hits its stride the rest of the way. So I just consider everything up until that point the tutorial before the real game takes off.

The graphics and animation are improved and supposedly some AI improvements(but heard its minimal). Same story pretty much same game.
