So I'll say......$20 a year is nothing, but I won't judge people's financial decisions. But how do you feel about Nintendo taking away features that are currently available now and then offering back to you behind a paywall?

I just want to be able to pick up progress between both Switches in the house on the same game if I take the game card downstairs. That's worth the money, IMO.

If the game you're referring to offers cloud saves, which Splatoon will not.

ETA Also, if you let your sub lapse, cloud data is wiped immediately.

Only concerned with BOTW and Octopath, right now.

Well from day one they said they were going to eventually charge for their online.

The ability the ability to receive deeper discounts during sales like Xbox One and PS4 would be swell, but I don't think I've heard anything.

Lack of cloud save support for all games is what upsets me the most.

It is pretty crappy from a standard service aspect, but I still haven't used Cloud Saves on my Steam account or Xbox One

Steam and 360 don’t have hardware flaws that make it impossible to back up your progress securely like the Switch does.

The Nintendo fanboys creaming themselves over the announced service were all claiming it would be worth it to back up their 200 hours spent on Breath Of The Wild.

Is Splatoon actually a fun game? I could never get the controls down or even see the point of it, but we still have it on the Wii U.

Think my kids would like it if they took the time to learn it?

Fair point, but neither did any console prior to the 360 gen right?

Anyone thinking it would be parallel to Live was fooling themselves.

Honestly I could care less about cloud saves. I have used them once or twice ever on my PS4.

That said, this is $20 a year, or $4 a month, you get what you pay for

They have been upfront since the launch of the Switch that the free online was only a temporary trial period until Switch Online rolled out.

Personally, I don't play many online games on the Switch but I bought a year subscription just to support it and see how it works out. Probably won't renew next year unless there's some more games (SNES) added to the ones being offered.

The online play for the NES games is only available with people on your friends list

The NES games list does feel a bit small atm and lacking in third party titles.

I believe they said that previous VC library titles would eventually make it into the rotation.

Their speed with VC is probably what ticks me off the most. I've played this game on like 3 systems. It takes 2 years to get to the good SNES games.

Agreed, and those I owned on Wii should've seamlessly transferred to WiiU and Switch. That may be part of the reason they're making a bunch of these games "free" with the Switch Online membership.

Anyone else getting download errors for the NES software?

ETA - Fixed. Apparently the Switch freaks out about 512 GB Micro SD cards.

That's fricked up and it doesn't incentive people to re-up.

Sorry guys. I'm not really much of a gamer. My 9 year old plays Splatoon 2 on his switch. We bought the download last Christmas. What will be changing for him?

You've never uninstalled a game, and then reinstalled it? That's how I've used cloud saves...
