Because it's a story that partly focused on the relationship of a couple, it's RPG elements that's added into the game. If you don't like it cool then don't take part in it. Getting pissy over an optional part of a game is wild

I had to take a terrorism class way back in the day. The instructor, who did a stint as a FBI hostage negotiator, calmly said to everyone - you do not negotiate with female terrorists if possible, try to find a male. He further went on, if bullets start flying, you take out female terrorists first.

He upset some ladies in there, but he had decades of experience. A woman's mind does not process logical outcomes the same as men.

I mean, when development started having tidbits come out a decade ago, it was heavily rumored that GTA VI would have a female lead. It wasn’t until 3 or so years ago that they announced a male character would be playable. I think from the beginning they wanted to have a female lead but thankfully higher ups saw how disastrous that would be and forced them to add Jason.

Hell there are have been devs on record saying they’re tying to be more conscious about who they make fun of and trying not to be “misogynistic”. So it’s not crazy to assume she is going to be very “girl bossy”

I’m still buying the game and am excited about it, but I fully expect some bullshite in regards to Lucia being the “real” main character.

Because that's probably the case, but then people chickened out and shoehorned in a male protagonist.

Ubisoft has done this at least twice. AC Origins was supposed to feature Aya as the playable character but some executive freaked out over it and they switched it to Bayek, which worked out because he's one of the better Assassin's in the series but they missed the mark by not at least giving us an Aya DLC.

Then Odyssey was supposed to be only Kassandra, but same thing happened again, and we got Alexios as well. The VA for him was pretty garbage and you can almost tell it was a last minute change.

Yeah that's just your own assumptions. From everything we've seen Lucia seems to be part of the criminal duo that takes insane risks and always wants to go bigger. Meanwhile Jason seems to want to stay low and based on his conversation with Brian might want out of the life altogether.

It's a pretty common trope with criminal duos especially couples.

I'll be honest. The shite coming out about the story, and the dialogue in the reveal. . .pretty clear this was written by women.

Gameplay better be incredible, because the story is going to be shite
