Goldeneye is the most overrated FPS of all time. Outside of nostalgic value, it has aged horribly.
There are plenty of classic FPS games (including some on console) that have aged much better.

You are correct. Most cannot be honest because it was so great.... when I was 10. The controls were horrible and the map design was pretty bad. But nostalgia reigns supreme

This is a remaster by Rare so I'm hoping they fix any small issues the game may have had.

There's a large contingent of morons that like to trash pretty much every single thing good that has ever existed as actually sucking and you're remembering it wrong because nostalgia.
Bring up anything older than 5 years that was wildly acclaimed and you'll hear the "nostalgia!" refrain from dullards.

Controls and graphics have aged terribly, yes, but outside of that it's still a fun game, it's no perfect dark though.

I could get bogged down at several points of this, but if you’ll indulge me, I’m curious about something very specific:
Is it your opinion that how a game has “aged” is the primary criterion for whether it was a good/great game when it was released?
