Getting a console initially for *THAT* game

Has anyone else done this?
I knew I'd end up using the XBox One for other things (like Netflix, etc), but I initially got it for GTA V (normally, I'm a PC gamer, but prefer GTA and sports games on consoles). I have gotten more games since then, of course, but it always starts off with that one game.
Now I'm considering a PS4. Why?
Horizon Zero Dawn.
Anyone else guilty of this?

I haven't bought a system since 2006, and I have a 3 week old at home. I still fall asleep thinking about how badly I want to get the switch just for Zelda even though I know I would maybe get 30 minutes of time to play a week.

PS4 for Bloodborne. But I've stuck around for Last of Us, Uncharted. Looking forward to Horizon, Nioh, NieR, and some others.

Regret the Xbox One because Halo: MCC never got the full attention from 343 studios because Halo 5 was around the corner. Played Halo 5 for a bit and lost interest in it.

I finally broke down and picked up a Gamecube for Metroid Prime (with promise of Wind Waker around the corner) back in the day. Did not regret it. Remains my favorite game to this day.
Other than that, I typically buy a system for a combination of titles though it's not uncommon for one specific game to push me past the tipping point.

I bought a Vita specifically because my wife and I had a baby. A good handheld or the Switch is a good option for a new parent that still wants to game a little here and there.
