No I get this, but seriously just on a visual aspect aren't you glad about where we have progressed to now?

ETA: I started on an Atari, loved it, and still think fondly about the times spent playing it. I am still infinitely more happy about play next gen & PC gaming though.

Also to be fair there was a lot of this back then too.

Visually, 1000% better. 8 bit graphics look terrible now.

No. No one would want better looking graphics in a game.

A massive jump, especially in thinking about the time it took from then to now.

I seem to remember quite a few NES era games that were repetitive, broken, or straight up not fun. I don't miss those kind of games, because it seemed like developers purposefully utilized infuriating game design regularly. Don't see that so much now.

I wasn't saying it in a demeaning way as much as a ...

"Wow take a step back and look how far we have come in so little time"

Way.

There were a lot of terrible games, but did you ever play Shadowgate? Games like that were pretty awesome and had a real strategy behind it.

Wrong on the 1st one.

Correct on the 2nd. Romance of the Three Kingdoms II for SNES.

The first and third games I listed weren't widely known. I found the first one to be one of the better RPG's for it's time. They also made a sequel for it on SNES.

Geauxtigers87, that's Top Gun.

And no one got my first screenshot, which was C64's Bop 'N Wrestle.

Crazy because I was sure of the first one and stretching on the second.

The first one is Uncharted Waters

They made an even better sequel called Uncharted Waters 2: Widening Horizons for SNES

Still play it to this day

#3 is COD 4 Modern Warfare. Easily my favorite of the series.

I'm assuming the other two are COD as well.
