How would you rank these games? Also why, in your opinion is New Vegas #1 in everyones top choices?

My personal favorite is FO3. I had a misdiagnosed crack in my vertebrae (was a series of spoiled muscles from soccer) and was couch-ridden for a good month. My idea was to get lost in a game and fallout 3 had just come out. I had never been impressed by a game like that in my life. Absolutely fell in love with everything about the wastelands and all, new vegas never got me like that.

Fallout 4 comes in a more distant 3rd unfortunately. Over hyped? maybe, but it was almost impossible NOT to buy into the hype after NV and 3. The game play and graphics were superior of course, but I didn't like the character having a voice and the karma wasn't like the other games. Where the fans at?

I personally disliked NV, but that is just me. I can easily see why some would love it

I enjoyed 3 the most

I've always been a bigger FO3 fan, but I've never finished NV. New Vegas in itself was offputting to me at first. In retrospect I see the game a little differently and kind of want to do a playthrough again. Maybe it's fatigue from playing 3 so much but I feel I would probably rank NV higher now.

4 isn't close to those 2 but still a good game.

Fallout 3: Best location & factions(D.C./Capital Wasteland, BOS & Enclave)

Fallout NV: Best story

Fallout 4: Best Additions (Far Harbor & Nuka World, Settlement building)

I would buy 3 and NV again in a heartbeat if they remastered them.

To me NV had by far the better narrative. It sucked me in way more than FO3 did. The companions were better also. Finally, I think it's DLC was fantastic.

I did the free week trial of playstation now since it has fallout 3 and NV on it. (No dlc though.. Wtf?)

Played through NV. Just a great game.

I'd go NV>4>3

I'd agree with this overall.

Personally I liked NV much more than Fallout 3, and 3 way way more than 4. The weapon/armor modding in game was a nice addition, but that was about it unless you were really into Fallout: Sims. The ending of Fallout 3 was terrible, with them railroading you into doing something no matter what your decision was. It went completely against the entire spirit of the Fallout games.

But NV was by far the best combo of story and gameplay, and closer to Fallout 2 in quality, which is still my favorite Fallout game.

The lack of story in Bethesda games is always going to hurt them for games like Fallout. Hopefully they improve that with the next one, but they went in the wrong direction from 3 to 4 there.

There was just something about New Vegas that made it stand out. There are no overly tedious parts, the game is paced perfectly, the factions were very interesting, the storyline is great and the outcome is different depending on who you choose to side with, adding a ton a replay value through the end of game. I love the build up to Las Vegas. You can see the city in the distance through the entire first half of the game.

I have the Ultimate Edition for 360 so I can play it Xbox One. I've played this game 3 times already. It is one of my all time favorites.

Fallout 3 is a close second. Wasteland was a great setting. I loved it my first time playing but I really had no interest to play through it again.

Fallout 4 is third. I found it a little too slow paced. I do plan on giving it another shot again.

Agreed, the redundancy of going to save the towns in FO4 was just awful. I got so sucked into FO3 and still play it a lot with different characters. I would assume another elder scrolls would be next though wouldn't it?

FO3 with little lamplight, andale, tranquility lane, etc was just a really cool game to explore.

Hopefully they get back to those roots on FO5

NV>4>3

NV has the best story and characters. The Legion is awesome. The companions are mostly good too. I don't like the way the world is laid out in FO3. Going through all those subways and getting stuck in areas where you're surrounded by destroyed buildings is annoying. Feels too much like being stuck in a hallway. NV and FO4 have a more open world feel, especially 4.

One complaint about FO4 is the way they do armor. I prefer having one piece like in NV rather than multiple pieces. I'm a pack rat and weight is always a concern for me. It just seems like the weapons and armor in FO4 weigh more than they should.

I liked the war between the factions. You really had to think about what to do and how it will affect you the rest of the game, like the mission with the NCR where you had to get the Legion prisoner to talk. You could either talk to him to try to get him to talk, beat him to get him to talk, or if you were in good standing with the Legion, help him escape.

I haven't really done much with Vault 81 but Far Harbor and Nuka World are pretty cool because of the areas they open up.

Automatron is really just an add on quest with some solid armor and a settlement at the end.

I did pay for the season pass so I can't really help you with determining if they're worth the price. I'm biased because any of the Fallouts would be considered a favorite game of mine.

I'd rank them as follows: 1. FO3, 2. NV, 3. FO4.

New Vegas would be higher, but a bug crashed all my saves.

Well they haven't ported Skyrim to cell phones yet, so we will have to wait just a bit longer.

1) New Vegas. You have more choice than 3. Dialogue is better. Story is better. It took everything I loved from 3 and polished it. It isn't a knock on 3, I love it. But NV is just better IMO.

2) FO3. Solid all around. Wasn't a big fan of the story on my first play but it aged well.

3) FO4. I like it, but it just doesn't feel like a fallout game. It has grown on me more as time has passed but the story was predictable as hell, the dialogue choices suck, no real faction choices, and it feels like no choice you make really matters. The lack of variation in playthroughs is irritating.

NV was a passable game in the Fallout series.

3 was post apocalyptic Oblivion

4 was post apocalyptic Skyrim.

If you are a fan of Fallout 1&2, then New Vegas is your jam.

Otherwise, your circle of knowledge regarding Fallout centers on F3.

Fallout New Vegas is in my top 5 favorite video games of all time. NV and then Fallout 4 is proof that Bethesda needs to give the reins of development to Obsidian.

It's my #1. I always put at least 70 hours into each play through, and I do it once every 2-3 years. I must have put at least 300 hours into it total. Not as good of a story/dialogue as FO2. Not as good of a shooter as FO4. But the best combination of all the elements of the series. I've played it 3 or 4 times, and I lean towards the "bad guy" choices, but I've never actually finished while supporting Caesar. Will do it next play through, and I'm sure it will be a very different game.
