Does the gaming board have any idea on a game that can kill the popularity of Fortnite?

i sucked at fortnite. let's get that out of the way, first. second, i don't have the slightest idea a game. this game is almost 2 years old, and in the current gaming era, games don't necessarily last that long in popularity. it's had it's struggles upon the initial release of Blackout and Apex, but they came out on top both times.

ninja, lupo, sypher, tim, tfue play it religiously and now drdisrespect has been playing for the past 2 weeks. how are these guys not brain dead for playing the same thing day in and day out for the past 2 years?

This is just my non-analytical opinion, but I think the battle royale genre is going to fracture.

Fornite is going to be more for kids, Apex more for adult gamers, and Blackout for die-hard call of duty fans.

None is going to completely kill the other, other than Blackout being the lesser of the 3.

Eventually, I think battle royale as a whole will tire out.

since fortnite is perpetually in "beta", they can pump out content updates every week.

nothing will kill its popularity for a long time. Apex brought in new people to the BR genre (like myself), but it hasnt really dented FNs popularity at all.

Respawn is really slow at adding updates. One thing Epic has been great about is the constant patches to fix issues.

I haven't played Fortnite at all this season and I haven't played much Apex either. So many good SP games came out 1Q 2019 that they've kept me busy. Think I was a bit burnt out on BR games

Also doesnt help that the Fortnite battle pass this season is a complete joke. No incentive to play for me. The Apex pass is trash as well.

I haven’t touched Fortnite since they introduced vehicles.

Not gonna get killed. They are trying for esports. Will be like csgo and LoL if they do it right.

They aren't gonna make it all esports ready until it dies down a little though.

They need to stop pissing off the pros.

Both completely dead games. Fortnite isn’t going anywhere. It’s the constant updates, and patches that keep it going. Plus the map is constantly changing, which gives players incentive to go back at the beginning of each season.

I’m fine with Fortnite being super popular. I’ve noticed a huge drop in “squeakers” in other game lobbies since it blew up.

It will, everything does at some point. BR is just the GEN Z genre.

Millenials loved them some FPS and stupid iphone games

Gen X was all over dropping quarters at the arcade

Boomers like to play Bridge.

A few years ago it was all about zombies. Didn't matter what you made, you had to put zombies in it. Now it's BR. The only thing that has kept the BR genre from getting stale and dying is the constant flow of new BRs. I have a feeling the rate in which those have come out is going to slow down now that Fortnite and Apex have gotten a stranglehold on the genre. Fortnite may stick around, but BR is not going to completely saturate the market forever.

Massive PvP style games will always have a market. It may not stay as popular as it is now, but they are here to stay.

No game will kill Fortnite, a gradual battle royale fatigue will.
