If it’s lost 90% of its viewership on twitch, what do you think has happened it its player base? I wonder what their concurrent players number is right now?
Dead game.

One that is simple and relys on skil to actually win. COD4 had 3 air strikes and normal guns. Great maps. Hard to improve that formula.

Summer is not going to kill Fortnite. All the kids will be at home playing it all day for 3 months. I've said it before, last summer is when it got really sweaty. By August every 10 year old will be able to do The Doritos ramp rush.

I've tried Apex, Blackout, and Fortnite and hated them. I'm still playing PUBG. I know the optimization sucks but the realism of it it most attractive.

As someone who has never been that big into video games, I started playing Fornite about 3.5 months ago and I love it. I am not that great at it, although I have become better at it over time.
Building forts is my biggest weakness. I can take a shot at someone and if I am using a pump, by the time I reload they have a whole fort up and as soon as you knock down a wall they are coming at you from another angle.
I tried PUBG and I didn't like it that much, but I like the concept of BR.
Also, what I like about Fortnite is that there are other aspects of the game that allow you to practice and get better at the game.
- Team Rumble
- Creative Mode
- Practice Mode which allows you to get on the island by yourself and get to know where things are and how to get to them quicker, etc..
- Challenges: There is a daily challenge and then the weekly challenges. To complete them you have to get out of your comfort zone.
Now sure why you would want to kill the popularity of Fortnite. If people like it, they like it. And I think what keeps it going is there is a new season every 10-12 weeks.
At the end of season 7 they had it's first live concert with DJ Marshmello.. Things like that will keep people interested.

People have been saying this for the past 4 years ever since H1 became huge
I made over $1000 in steam credits for selling skins/emotes in H1Z1. Game was kind of crap and they never figured out how to stime the teaming issue in BR.
I'm still trying to find games on steam worth spending the money on. Most of the big releases are not offered on steam anymore.

It was a good game, just incredibly toxic and Brendan Greene (yes, the same dude that made PUBG), basically tanked the game by only developing skins and not updating the game

I wish some one comes out with a multiplayer game like the multiplayer part of Splinter Cell Pandora Tommorrow.

When a game gets sufficiently big, no other game can come along and "kill" it off IMO. Is there a single example of a hugely popular game that was killed off by a competitor game designed to best it?
As with all other past gaming behemoths, the only thing that will "kill" it is time. We've probably already reached peak Fortnite already, the number of people who stop playing it will inevitably exceed the number of people who start it (if not already), but the player base is so huge it will go strong and steady for years.

this game is almost 2 years old, and in the current gaming era, games don't necessarily last that long in popularity.
LoL has been around much longer and still is above Fortnite in streaming numbers several times a day

I think if Epic hadn't taken a very aggressive approach to constantly editing the game and adding new content, I would think that Fortnite would be on its way out by now. However, this simply isn't the case.
Epic has done a fantastic job evolving the game. They've kept most of what people love, removed a lot of things people hated, and have already introduced a variety of game modes that can appeal to a giant base of gamers. Now that they've added competitive modes and content creation, even putting some user generated content on the forefront for everyone to see (The Block), I really don't think this game is going anywhere anytime soon.
I still enjoy the game very much and have tons of friends that play it. I fully acknowledge it's not everyone's cup of tea, but that's not a bad thing.

If I got paid the money they get paid. Heck, I could go for even longer by playing the same thing over and over.
