This is the corrrct answer.

It’s why I don’t get to play much at all anymore. Used to play games round the clock in college and all before. I was born in 87. So I’ve grown up playing NES>SNES>SEGA>SEGACD>PS1>PS2>XBOX and every Xbox gen since.

But now I have two boys (1 and 3.5) and I wake up at 5:40 every morning. Aka either I slack at being a dad. Slack at my work. Or slack/cut off video games.

So now I play a couple hours a month at best. And I don’t even see it being worth it. So I’ve pretty much completely stopped.

But again I don’t see playing as childish at all. But if you put your adult duties behind it then yes it is.

Meh, it's not a problem as long as you put your job and family responsibilities first. It's no different than watching a TV show.

I'm the same. I play only the big titles for the story. Like maybe 2-3 games a year. Not counting the few times the SO wants to play Mario Party etc.

Cut out almost all the time consuming online MPer games just to pursue other hobbies which come with a "healthier" lifestyle and possible future business opportunities.

shite I still play a children's card game and I don't even think that's childish

I do also enjoy collecting my Pokemon cards.

Hahaha I mean it was on the weekends man and it wasn’t just straight playing.

Lots of beers and cooking and shite in-between.

But I’d be lying if I said it didn’t happen on several occasions.

I don’t have a kid either and when this was happening my gf lived two hours away so it’s not like I had shite else to do.

28 and have played some variety of video game since I was 7. My parents never did. I play them all the time with my 7 year old.

I think it's not looked on nearly as negatively as it used to be. Looking back on how much I play(ed) them it doesn't bother me at all my kids want to. In fact it's just something else we can do together.

Honestly, I refuse to let my lack of time let me not enjoy things. I have the money to buy the games I've wanted to play my whole life, and I will enjoy them.

When I get the time of course.

I enjoy the spreadsheet part of Pokemon. I like deck building but don't enjoy playing.

Anyone who says they're childish, you should reply with how much some of the top pro gamers and/or twitch streamers bring in a year now. Probably more than they make in a decade.

The people who think this are the same posters who get triggered anytime wrestling comes up on the OT board.
