I remember playing Diablo on PC and I took a chance on it for like $30 at Walmart the other day. I probably have 20 hours into the game now and it's still fun as hell.

It’s fun but I miss the difficulty, darkness, and charm of Diablo 2. Best replay value game ever. I found Diablo 3 to be a tad disappointing.

Really miss the days of getting the squad together and crushing some cow runs.

Played it at launch. I’m a hardcore fan of the first two games. But the third game at launch was a fricking mess and I haven’t bothered with it since

The new version (at least the last time I played) with the seasons was much better than the release version. It may be worth giving it another shot. That said, I'm playing Path of Exile currently which is free and gets me the same fix as Diablo III

Yep. D3 got there eventually but it's a shadow of D2 and no where near as good. I'm not sure I'll even start another season in Diablo

If you like Diablo 3 then you should really try Path of Exile.

It is so much better IMHO. Plus, you can't beat the price to try it out.

+1 to Path of Exile here. Definitely scratches the old school Diablo itch.

The fact you can trade and it's super easy to do in path of exile makes it better at this point.

PoE is on console now too. Not sure about Switch but it's out for PS4/Xbox

My only issue is that console is sort of second class. PC has a third party trading site that is phenomenal. Console has a in game trading platform but abysmal search functions which makes trading better non unique items difficult. (or uniques with big ranges)... With a limited console player base, it's hard to trade for many things... It functions like a marginally better solo self found

At release I found Diablo 3 was fine for one playthrough, but it was extremely shallow and lacked D2's magic, depth, and replayability.

From what I understand they have improved the game immensely following the initial release but I never revisted it post-improvements.

Instead I went on to Path of Exile, which felt way more like a true new and improved sequel to Diablo 2.

Outside of production value, PoE is superior to D3 in every way.

I installed Path of Exile on my Xbox one. I'll see how it goes. I know it's better on PC but my only working PC is like 3 years old.

I've been playing it on my PS4. It takes a bit to get used to it but overall I'm really happy with how it's going with the controller. Moving items around is a pain in the arse sometimes, but other than the general frickery of inventory control in these games anyway, it's not a huge deal.

Might have to try path of exile. Looks like it came out on PS4 last month.

Just watched some gameplay. Definitely downloading this when I get home.

Been playing D3 off an on since it's release (PS4). It was definitely a clusterfrick on launch but the class balancing, dlc, and big fixes have turned it into a smooth game.

I've only ever played solo and my little monk is pushing 950 paragons. I played it for a couple weeks last month and it took 20 hours gameplay just to get a primal ancient to drop.

Torment 13 difficulty by itself is absolutely boring easy at this point, but greater rifts solo in the 90s are brutal. I like it because no matter how badass you are, there's a gRift that will destroy you.

I don't know what a Paragon is at this point but I have none. What do they do?
