it was fairly easy for me but ive been doin this shite half my life.

it can be a bit overwhelming at first to a newcomer, not gonna lie. hard to quantify a degree of difficuly.

generally everything only fits into one place.. just have to then mount it up inside the tower.

buying everything initially is one of the tougher obstacles, deciding what you want, from what site.

basically just have to screw down the mobo into the case, connect and secure all the parts that run to it, and connect the mobo to power. then install an OS.

I'm going for the PC build. Hopefully I can get my MacBook sold pretty quickly so I can start buying parts!

I need to search for some of the pc threads on here to find what I need to buy and where to buy it. I think it'd be cool to have a stickied topic with some of the PC build threads so people don't have to look/keep posting topics about what to buy.

LINK

This is also a good place to go LINK

As far as buying parts...my last build I just got everything from newegg. That's probably the most popular place.

Unless PC gaming has radically changed, the community is usually wayyyy more kick arse than the console community.

building a PC from parts is way easier (and much less messy) than fricking with a car. Go for it.

PC Gaming = Serious Business

To the OP. Putting the parts together is the easy part. Picking them out is the tricky part.

I am building mine tomorrow and literally half the parts came from NewEgg and the other half from TigerDirect.

To the OP...I have been on the fence about PC gaming for a while but the biggest reasons I have done it is the awesome stuff you can't get on Consoles. Day Z right now being one of them.

I think there are better games on PC and for pretty cheap. The Indie games on Xbox don't compare to what's out there for PC. All of this is before we even start talking about the free to play games that are out or coming out.
