I know there's already a thread on this game but I don't want to crash their thread.
Is this game really worth it? I watch the gameplay and it's the same as last year. I can spend $70 much better. I'm a huge SEC football fan. It's in my DNA, But I also spend my money wisely. I'm not against getting it, I just want to hear from the people on this board that also love SEC football.

I haven’t been as hyped for it as compared to past years. Not sure why. Maybe it was the extremely difficult default sliders.

Have you played any of the recent ones? I think the in-game play is a big improvement and feels much better. Very fluid, great animations.
However, like pretty much all of the games now, it has a lot of issues framework wise that will need to be fixed.
If you have last years game, you won’t be missing too much waiting for price to come down. If you’re just itching for a college football game to just play, it plays great in game. They just need to fix dynasty, rtg issues, etc.

It feels like an improvement and there are several differences with dynasty mostly managing the program and NIL. I got it mostly because its on PC which opens the door for mods. If you're just a "jump in and play some games" type of person then no.

Just get an EA plus monthly sub for $6 and try it for 10 hours for free and if you like it you get 10% off buying it with EA plus so you don't spend any more than if you bought it straight up

If we are just talking gameplay alone, it’s quite a big improvement to me over the last two games. But if you are more into focusing on dynasty/ultimate team and stuff like that, there has been quite a bit of backlash mainly because of micro transactions.
I’m mainly just a turn the game on and play now kinda gamer so I’m very satisfied with the overall feel and gameplay. Player movement in just about every way is a good bit more realistic.

This quote always gets me every year when I hear it. It’s football. EA isn’t going to reimagine it from what it already is.
Don’t be surprised when you watch a football game this coming season and it’s just like football you watched on TV last season.

that’s great. I’m glad the community streamers took a hard stance. not a simple/easy thing to do considering their partnership and this how they make a living. Kudos for once to EA.

So are they leaving microtransactions for offline dynasty? That statement specifically says they’re being removed from “Online Dynasty.”
EDIT: Nevermind, I didn’t realize the microtransactions weren’t part of offline dynasty. I don’t have the game yet.

Gameplay seems very improved to me and the dynasty/recruiting is awesome with NIL.
I've loved it so far.

I think the gameplay is really fantastic. This is coming g from someone who hasn’t played a cfb game since probably 2010 2012 at the latest. I did play them religiously every year though. Gameplay is much improved however I feel the ui is over done for me currently.
I used to be able to call a defensive play and simply press triangle and down for press coverage from secondary. L1 for d line pinch or spread. I believe (dont quote me) r1 for line backers.
Now I literally have no idea. I’ve tried to go into practice but that’s only offense. I have no time to pick a play on defense it seems.
So far I’ve just played as a dl who constantly gets blocked and hopes my back end can hold. I can’t even figure out how to swim move or anything. In nockle or 4-2-5 I’m hard pressed to find pressure.
I’m pretty good offensively though as I’ve spent since release crafting a playbook though I only run about 7 plays.

I’ll say this. I literally just played my first two games since release as I’ve taken time practicing and going through formations.
I’ve started as an oc at South Alabama and working my way up. My first game I had to win it on a game winning field goal and it was exhilarating. Played Tulane next in a barn burner where I won by 11 but they had 4 turnovers. It’s pretty damn fun in that aspect.
I wish you had more time defensively to pick plays. Also I gotta figure out the whole pre snap defense stuff. I
Enjoy the challenge but it does seem overdone imo

I agree they need to give a little more time to pick a play on defense. I usually don’t need much time but a few times I’ve had the clock get me. I’ve been caught a few times by the cpu for a massive play while I try to get to the right defender
