My new bride will wonder if I'm cheating on her. In reality, I'll just be chatting up a bunch of dudes staring at cartoon orcs.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I feel like classic WOW was a time and place kind of experience. A lot of the appeal for me was the fact that it felt like the world was truly unexplored. The specific drop rates of every item and their stats weren't cataloged yet. Information on where to find certain quests and their requirements were exchanged with guildmates and on message boards.

It wasn't quite NES-level school yard talk, but the endless rumor mill of what you might discover was a large part of the fun. Just bringing classic back won't be able to scratch that itch, but I'm glad those who missed it will have a chance to see what it was like.

PvP was at its very best in vanilla WoW

We had our server’s first Rank 14, that grind was awesome. Easily the most fun I’ve had in pvp, with Halo 1 on xbc a very close second.

Agreed. I was part of the team that got our server the first R14 Grand Marshall.

Was a total blast.

You aren't.

WoW was fun to noob around. Run around and explore. Once that wore off I strictly stayed on the better MMO with CoH.

Vent and TS early days with WoW had some sort of magic too.

Here's my thing.

The private servers are still alive and kicking.

Why go to sub based on classic?

Blizzard has gone after classic WoW servers in the past, and private servers are never the most stable things to begin with. It would suck to level all the way to 60 then the servers get shut down by Blizzard or by a petty squabble between the private server devs.

The private servers also use the older clients which means old bugs are still around.

The CoH: Homecoming server is developing a feature for character dumps. So if the server gets shutdown by NCsoft you can quickly find another server which runs some of their plugins and upload your character/account.

IDK how hard that would be to develope for private WoW servers. Those admins should look into it.

Ion has said that depending on the success of the Classic re-launch, they are thinking about making legacy servers for BC/WotLK. I'd never play anything else again if we got an official Wrath server.

Vanilla through Wrath were definitely my best times in WoW, though each was for different reasons.

If I still had the time to raid I’d seriously consider it, but alas I do not.

I want to know if they're going to make AQ a 40 man raid again or if they'll keep the current 20 man model.

Aq20 was an entire separate raid in vanilla so they better not.

Cant wait to see these noobs try aq40 twin emps viscidus huhuran ouro and Cthun

Yall dont know true pain until you get twin emps under 50% and a teleport happens and your warlock tank cant get aggro

Going Human Prot Warrior like back in the day. Won’t have time to raid but will be happy tanking 5 mans up to 60. 4 of my old buddies are going to roll on the same server. Should be a great time. If lucky I will get in on some MC runs.

No heirlooms and being tied to a gold budget is goings to slap some of the Cata forward crowd in the face.

Things like mana regen and clunky class mechanics will irk some people used to more recent iterations of WoW.

Also things like drop rates for quest updates and mob tagging will really be annoying.
