Put your TH out in the open and guard your storage as much as possible. the mines are secondary.
Let the trophy whores take your town hall and you get 12 more hours shield and around 6 trophy loss.
Many times people just send a few troops to attack my TH and leave my resources alone. Other times the bastards want it all...

At first you will get everything raided. It isnt a big deal. Everything gets rebuilt right after the raid with some resources taken.
I can tell you that if you leave resources in the mines, that raiders get more from destroying those than when they are in storage. Always empty the mines before shield goes down.
Also your TH getting destroyed automatically grants you 12 hour shield, so it is worth throwing it out there as easy meat for those looking for trophies.

My shield went down and it took 5 attempts for someone take my town hall down. Only happened because I didn't realize that walls didn't push the deployments boundary back.

That only means you lost more resources than you would have putting the TH outside the walls.
If you care more about the upgrading and economy put it out there for them to take. If you care about trophies then protect it. Trust me man

Is there a way to direct your troops on what to attack? They just run in and fight the closest thing. I'd prefer they took out cannons first
