FYI to everyone on the kestral beach minigames:

I did not beat the final portion of the "ping pong" minigame and was going to come back to it later, but the achievement for beating all minigames unlocked without me having to go back to that one.

I believe only the second round of that minigame is required for the achievement.

Thanks!

I did manage to get off ramasseur in a fight last night and noticed that jump in break.

Guess my problem right now is I’m destroying mobs before he really gets cooking.

I do see the value in bosses with him. I just have a lot more moves to find.

I’ll keep plugging away at him. Also never realized that XP is lower for non party members.

Have yet to voluntarily use verso. Anyone else use him a lot?

Verso Lune and Maelle is by far the best 3 for when you reach endgame and can break the damage cap

Get elemental trick with Lune and get her crit up to like 75% and then elemental genesis is a nuke.

Yeah I need to consider the attribute respec now that HP is drastically influenced by pictos etc.

Crit across the board right now is 40%

I use him, Maelle, and Monoco. Verso is mostly a marking machine for me.

Verso is able to get 200% damage output constantly without having to bother with switching stances if you get into S rank.

yeah that's nice, and definitely what I have him around for, but in most fights he just marks targets and the other two one-hit them.

Are you playing on normal? I imagine it’s not as useful if fights are over much quicker.

I do like have every single character is very viable and unique though.

Yeah man. I don't think hard mode gaming would be good for my marriage.

Well this changes things…would you take him over lune or Maelle?

My preferred team to take on endgame bosses and stuff is Verso, Lune, and Maelle

Good to know. Really didn’t think verso would do more output than Sciel.

The only trick is you can’t take damage with him or he will lose rank. But yeah, if you get him to S rank he does 200% damage.

Sciel is very viable as well. Same with monnoco. As I told fatkid the game is balanced extremely well and all party members are unique and viable. But if you’re looking for the max dps possible it’s going to be Verso Lune Maelle

The chromatics are brutal for me.

I took down the chromatic great sword in Sirene today and I’m just not that great at parry apparently.

With it raining most of the weekend, looks like I won't have much outside stuff going on. I can stay up a little later and play this a little more. I left off after picking up Maelle.

I need to check up my pictos and luminas. Haven't really focused on builds, so I'll work through that a bit tonight.

From an attributes perspective, I've basically ignored defense since damage reduction doesn't really seem like it matters much in big fights. I'm focusing on luck for my crit-based party members, might, then vitality. I add a little agility here and there to have my party attack in the order I want.

I have been avoiding this thread like the plague because of spoilers. I have now beat everything in the game including all optionals.

Maelle, Verso and Sciel team is the best team easily IMO.
They can kill anything before it even attacks if you build them right.

For Maelle you want to get Medalum. (win the tournament as her)
For Verse you want to get Chevalam (not mandatory)

This trio becomes insane in the 3rd Act (Stendhal), when you have first strike lumina. And even more insane when you get cheater (boss is cake to get it with this setup).
All other Luuminas should just be energy and dmg

The idea is to just 1 shot everything with Maelle. She starts every fight with Virtuose because of Medalum.

Set your party up for Sciel to go first, then Verso, then Maelle. Use Sciel 2x dmg ability on Maelle, mark the enemy with Verso, then nuke it with Maelle's Stendhal. Nothing survives. Even the strongest post game hidden bosses.

As a bonus your setup with Verso of Chevalam (start in S), cheater and first strike will let you use steeled strike before the enemies move as well.

This does make the game broken. Just a warning.

Lune is okay but Maelle easily does 4 times the damage of her in the late game. And having Sciel in the party just for her double damage ability is more important as a buffer for Maelle.

Finished Act 1. Taking a break before I get into act 2. they added a new parry type with R2 lol.

the story is absolutely top notch so far, gameplay is good. I think they did screw up giving you SOOO many pictos and lumines to reset because you level up so fast in this game that half of them you will never use.

But it isn't like you can't just ignore them and still win the fights.

I do try to at least use each picto for 4 fights though.

thats my only nitpick, the game is amazing.

music awesome, graphics awesome, story is top tier, gameplay is fun and fast and difficulty is great (i was worried about the parry timing but it's more about learning movesets than framelike timing).
