I’ll beat the volly today. I practiced for an hour last night before calling it. Wife got off the couch and I asked where she was going.
She said if I have to watch this and hear you say one more time another 30 times then I’m going to do something else…
I’m consistently getting it down to where it only needs 2-6 damage. Got really close a few times.

Man I just can't spend that much time playing a mini game for a cosmetic item.

It’s not so much about the item and more so the challenge, the extra time spent in a game a like, and the desire to complete everything.

This is where I am and holy shite, I can’t get over how beautiful this game is. Graphics, music, and voice acting have been on point.

I haven't even gotten to play the game yet. Getting old sucks.

Old school JRPGS like FF7, FF8, FF10. Ive seen comparisons to Lost Odyssey and Legend of Dragoon as well.

Just powered through the yellow harvest region.
Killed my first chromatic. Was a brutal fight against three and finally got them after about 6 or 7 failures.
Had to get parry down perfect.

Whoever designed the obstacle course on the beach is an a-hole.

I have still yet to press the dodge button.
Unless I had to do it in the tutorial…I forget but otherwise pulling off perfect parry’s is like crack to me.
Also just beat the last volly. Took about 10 attempts after returning from last night.
Staying between the bottom right corner of the far left square and far left corner of the right square seemed to be shortest path that optimized the range of your block. If that makes sense.

There are some attacks that I just cannot get the parry timing on.
The boss of Yellow Harvest has this ground magic attack that throws me off, so I dodge.
I still can’t get the mime’s hammer attack down, no matter how many times I try.
If I cannot get parry down, I’ll go with dodge.
What level is everyone? I just got Esquie and I’m doing side areas. Currently 22 with Lune, Gus, and Maelle. The other character you get (won’t name names) is 19. Haven’t really used them though.
Starting to max out damage at 9,999 with Maelle.

Everyone is 27 and one is 24. I have mostly been using the girls as well. Just too familiar with the rotations and weaving between them all.

The new one’s techniques just seem overly complicated.
I bet it is awesome, I just haven’t dug into it yet.

I'm at the place with ship wreckage (next point after Esquie I believe)
Can someone explain to me how to properly time the enemies smash attack (it goes in slow motion in the middle of it)?
I've tried what I thought was on time, then early, then late, but I can't dodge or parry it. It's a one hit KO on my peeps so it's wildly annoying.

Are you fighting the white rock guy? If so, you can't do anything about that attack (yet).

Why isn't this game "overwhelmingly positive" on Steam? If it were I would have bought it already.

The vast majority of the complaints and negative reviews are from people who just suck at video games in general and can't utilize the dodges and parries correctly. At least from what I have seen.

Some even on story mode are struggling.
I just got done beating a world boss that was one shot on everything. After the first fight I was like ehhh I’ll just come back when I’m stronger.
Then I thought…if it’s in the act 1 zone and I’m in act 2. Surely I can. So I went back and proceeded to die 10+ times just learning the move names and then the timing. Always using my extra member to try a get more reps in knowing it was over.
Sure enough it just took being able to parry roughly 10 or so attack turns before it was dead.
Went from I’ll pass to unlocking one of the better weapons I have come across. All it took was 20mins, focus, and patience.
