Geralt is already a minority within that universe. He is a Witcher. Explore it in a more abstract way.

I don't know why people get so hung up on things like this, I refused to watch BSG because they made Starbuck a woman, years later I watched it and it's one of my favorite series.

Evidently you did understand why people get hung up on it. You admitted you were hung up on it. You just didn't stay hung up after all of the stellar reviews. Ace still hasn't watched it and will never watch BSG.
Why risk pissing off a built in fan base? You know this will piss off both book readers and gamers. It doesn't matter if them getting pissed off is rational or not. Only a clown would pretend they have no clue it would piss anyone off.
They picked this property because it had a built in base. Pissing them off for no reason it stupid. And there is no reason to change Ciri. It is nothing more than diversity for diversity sake. Do bean counters really think Netflix will explode in China if they add an Asian girl?
I actually don't care. Only thing that will piss me off is if they make it PG13. If it isn't filled with tits and gore, I won't be watching.

The new Ocean's movie was a decent movie and made as much money as the previous 2 installments. It just wasn't a strong movie. It made a bit more than 13, which I think is the better movie though.
For Terminator... you mean the poster? It hasn't been released yet. Genisys made crap at the box office because it was a shite movie. I think most people don't care if the Terminator franchise has a female-lead movie so long as it isn't complete and total dogshit like the last 3 movies have been. (Okay, Salvation was only "kind of" dogshit).

Bringing out a good, fatherly side to Geralt.
Being the one person that Geralt, Yennifer, and Triss all seem to care about. Yennifer, self-serving as she is, still seemed to be "Ceri first" in her mentality.
Willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good.
Ciri, along with Triss, is pretty much the most "good" person in the franchise. At least IMO. She has a set of morals that would make her paladin-esque.
