As others have said slow down. But more than that don't get caught up in the same old FPS treadmill, play "your" game. There are a ton of ways to play BF6.

To me BF6 is more about doing my job, not kills and deaths. I don't even know what my K/D ratio is and I really don't care. The most fun I had in a match I didn't get as many kills as the others, but I kept our tank in action and revived a ton of my teammates and allowed us to capture the objective and win. I was too busy putting in work repairing, setting mines and reviving downed teammates and finishing of the other team's tank with an RPG that I only had a chance to pick off a few opponents trying to RPG the tank. Much more fun than just trying to pad K/D.

Find the way you enjoy the game.

During the beta, I would be top 5/10 in any game I played because I had 25-30 revives.

one of my favorite things to do is get around everyone and capture a point way in the back and then rinse and repeat. k/d is nice, but not the only way to kick battlefield's arse

I think it has been so long since there has been a good battlefield that everyone is out of practice what good games in battlefield look like. K/D while good and all, isn't the important stat it is in other games.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the game and it feels like a classic battlefield. The leveling progression is quite a slog though so if you don't have much time, it will take quite a while to get things leveled up. Make use of your xp boosts (apply it at the end of a round to get that bonus and it should last long enough for your next game too). You can also run matches in the portal (bot lobbies) for some more specific challenges. Not a bad way to get tuned in and then hop into real games too, but just a way to rack up some fast xp to get guns leveled up if time is an issue.

Like most, some of the maps I really like and some I don't for my playstyle. Game has some bugs and issues, but that isn't anything new to a battlefield game. Gadgets acting weird, drone/sledgehammer glitch, some sound and attachment issues. They are being very proactive at addressing things, so that is a very good sign.

But it's the fun part of the game, to me at least. I'm playing a "shooter" game to shoot. I don't have hours on end to play video games anymore. Not bitching at you, just bitching in general.

I bought BF because i hated what COD became. It was essentially a tiktok video game, that became obsessed with outfits, characters, and bling, and not the actual gameplay of warfare. BF is so much chaos. I'm going to try again tonight, but even going slow, i don't know where the shots are coming from, or where the enemies are. At least with COD, they made the game playable, for the sake of total realism. BF seems like the opposite.

The problem I always have with BF is getting the settings and everything tuned early. I have to be real patient until it all feels just right.

My day 1 experience prior to tuning was K/D 1.0.

Day 2 post tuning was a jump to K/D 1.6

Im not claiming to be some BF God but my advice would be to tune the settings if you haven’t…be patient with it.

Then just focus on the objective and your approach to the objective.

For example: I sprint to towards an objective and when I get within range I begin to slow down and try to position myself to be useful…useful isn’t always letting kills…sometimes it’s just staying alive. Even with this mindset I have plenty of opportunities to frag. If I just rush right into an objective…I’m often dead because enemies are already posting up expecting you.

Learn to hip fire and burst at range. Support with M4A1 is a great class to start. The gun is flexible. You can give yourself ammo and heal so you can stay alive longer and get more practice.

Yea I spent almost all of sunday/monday play time tweaking settings. One thing I wish they would bring over from COD was the ability to search for a setting. Such a great addition they added.

yeah. that’s kind of the idea.

I’m rocking a 1.4 K/D and I bust my arse playing objectives. Learn the maps, learn the gameplay, play with a squad, and soak up the chaos. Because I’ve got news for you, COD isn’t going back to the COD we all grew up with.

Activision is only now pretending to listen to the fanbase because BO7 is going to be trash and people are going find something else to play.

Agree. I couldn't sleep after one of our kids woke me up around 3 this morning so I hopped on. I went the support role and focused on reviving and laying down suppressive fire on a narrow stairway the enemy kept trying to rush through. It made a huge difference just being a spawn point for others.

Exactly.
When I’m playing solo or with a group of friends. I force myself to try to help the team or help my squad with every life.

Healing the tank, throwing down cover fire, reviving a few teammates, throwing down supply bags. Whatever and wherever we seem to have a need at a squad or team level.

Never worrying how many kills I have or how many times I’ve died. Every life try to move the needle just a hair.

When you play like that and your team pulls off a close victory in Rush, Breakthrough, or Conquest. It’s extremely gratifying. I get more out of that than I do trying to be a super soldier in COD while constantly battling streamer nerds, cheaters, hit detection, and SBMM.

100%

If you are playing the larger objective modes, the objective and your class is what you should be doing. It isn't warzone, it isn't TDM. The game is built to be a chaotic battle where you can't just try and solo stuff.

You can go play TDM and stuff if you just want to kill farm, hell even domination or breakthrough are a little more towards that.

I mainly play scout, and i'm playing it how it needs to be played, not just in the back of the map. Rarely is my team going into a point and I haven't marked every single enemy there. I have motion sensors deployed at as many strategic choke points as I can get to. Then laying down suppressing fire and cleaning up as best I can. I try and hold down a strategic area in the middle of a map as best I can and use it as a point for anyone.

I carried my team to victory the other day as a scout. Marked every enemy spawning at the B choke point and kept them all in cover by sniping pot shots. Only killed a few enemies. But was top 5 because of spots and cover points. Hell one dude said thanks at the end of the game

There is nothing I love more than when teams try and take the D point on liberation peak and have a tank right on the point, then their engineer lays down a bunch of landmines right there while they cap. Recon drone goes boom

This is what it’s all about. There are so many ways to play this game compared to CoD. If you just want a mindless arena shooter…great…we have CoD.

I hope every Bf from here on out is good. I hope every CoD from here on out is good. Because guess what? I like both styles.

Just currently I have been deprived of my BF itch since BF3. BF3 released in 2011….its been 15 years since I have truly enjoyed a BF entry.

You ever play Rush mode?

And general question to all players....how is Rush mode now? I heard it sucked in the beta....its really my go to mode for BF

They tweaked some of the layouts since the beta, but didn't actually fix the main issue. Rush isn't a small sided game mode. It shouldn't be.

It also baffles the mind that they put Breakthrough in the game how they did, instead of using Operations format from BF1. That may have been the best mode they've ever done. It was art.

These were fantastic. BF1 really was amazing, who would have thought WW1 could be done so well. The sniping in BF1 was just about perfect.

It was. The maps were fantasticly designed for it, gun play was great. Then you add in the music and sound (whstle charge and everything) when you take a sector and are pushing forward. I'd routinely turn off my entire hud when playing. It was an incredibly immersive experience. Argonne Forest was horrifying at times.
