That's just not true. Check out this thread over on Reddit about WWI weapons that could be in Battlefield

Yeah...I'm less excited about this game now since the developers plan on including "prototype" weapons in the game that were unavailable to World War I soldiers.

I was extremely disappointed on May 6 about what was to be the next few years of Battlefield for me. With a severe lack of interest in WWI, I found it hard to get excited. Then I thought back to some of the things I loved about 1942 (aside from the fantastic historical timeframe), and I got pretty excited.
It's going to be nice to have Battlefield without all of the cheese. I'm talking no auto-lock on missiles. No 20 round automatic shotguns. No active tank protection. No flares.
I'm hoping it goes back to its core, and provides an even playing field where skill is the determining factor of who stays in the sky. I'm getting pretty excited for some MP footage and the release date. While it will be another several years before we see another WWII or Vietnam game made by a big studio, I think I'll happily take this over future combat.

HERE'S WHAT THE CALL OF DUTY DEVELOPER HAD TO SAY ABOUT BATTLEFIELD 1
quote:
The YouTube trailers for both games are polar opposites, with the Battlefield 1 trailer amassing 16 million views over the past couple of days with more than 840,000 likes, where as the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer has amassed 12 million views and more than 910,000 dislikes.

This might actually get me to buy a Battlefield game

I feel like the game will probably be awesome, but it's my own disinterest in the setting that makes me not want it. I think that's a me problem and I don't know if I can get past it. I have a limited amount of time to play games so when I do I want to play what I want and not necessarily chain and malice simulator 2016.

There has never really been a WW1 game, the setting should be awesome because it's fresh. Now lack of automatics ans sniper rifles and such may suck, but it will be a fun game because of the setting.

Wow. He's evolved that character a bit. Or devolved it.

I signed up for that Battlefield Insider the other day. I guess that's guaranteed beta access.

Rumor has it:
Sounds like it's everything you ever wanted.
quote:
We have credible sources saying that Battlefield 1 will have a campaign that is solely based on WWl and WW ll . Vladimir a private for the USSR is getting his first taste of war. Here is the catch....Not only does he fights In WW1 but also carries over into WW ll. When wounded , the Russians run questionable "test" in order to save the mans life. He essentially becomes Russia's Captain American. Awoken from his hyperbaric sleep in the year 2043 he finds himself in a new war against America. Battlefield 1's Multiplayer takes you from the bunkers of France, the beaches of Normandy, to a post apocolyptic New York where Vladimir uses new technology, including a jet pack built into his back, to finish what he started.
Sounds like it's everything you ever wanted.
