Early impressions are looking promising. People saying it’s way improved from the 1st one.

Waiting to see reviews come out.
Bought the first one at launch and it was one of the biggest wastes of gaming money I've ever spent.
I know it supposedly got great later on, but by then, I had moved on.

Agree on everything you said.
Supposedly this one has way more content and also the endgame stuff.

I went ahead and pre ordered since the dlc is free for the first year.

Imma wait to make sure servers won't be an issue. There were some big issues with the launch of the first game but it got so much better at the end, and this looks fun.

I got it. Started playing last night when it launched. Servers are holding, gameplay is fun. The game has a solid, planned out progression system and appears to be good from the word go.
Of course stuff will need tuning along the way, but it has a fully fledged end game, 5 gear tiers, raids, you name it. All at launch.
Already the best looter shooter launch ever (for quality @ launch), and makes Anthem look even worse by comparison.

Can anyone comment on bullet spongy-ness?

This is not R6 or Ghost Recon, so let's start there. It is an RPG covered with a "realistic" veneer that makes you not want to shoot one guy 7500 times to kill him based on the aesthetics of the game. That is natural. But remember, this is just an RPG, so enemies don't die from one shot. Game is not designed that way, because that would render all the stats and skills irrelevant.
TD1 had horrible bullet sponges until it was patched out to some extent. The game became much much better after.
TD2 takes it even further. The enemies take WAY less shots to kill on average, but to make up for the "easier" time of killing them, they made two really big changes:
1) Your "armor" (health) no longer regenerates automatically as in TD1, and you have to "change plates" using a 2-3 second kit usage armor kit to "heal". Skills can also heal you, but no heal is "instant" anymore.
2) You also take more damage than TD1, exponentially so. Mix those two things together and you have to be much more tactical and careful with how you play TD2 vs TD1.
You kill faster, but can be killed faster as well. Enemies also push and flank you more than any time before in TD1, causing you to play more tactically. Enemies also won't pop up out of cover if they know you are aiming at them, but their buddy will figure it out and try to take a shot at you while you aren't looking.
Heavy enemies will constantly push you and make you reposition too.
All this adds up to a better experience than TD1 in combat. You can no longer "pop a heal" and face tank a few enemies. If you get caught in a bad position, youre probably dead.

You can watch people playing it on Twitch since yesterday.
On Twitch everyone keeps asking about the sponginess. Like someone said this is an RPG looter shooter that is closer to WoW than CounterStrike.
It looks pretty fun. I'll probably get it if I can get a couple friends to play. Luckily I cancelled my Anthem preorder so I need something to take its place.

My dark zone definitive edition was waiting on my steps when I got home. I’m looking forward to this weekend.

Got the Ultimate edition (XBOX) so I got early access today. I loved The Division, and this is another awesome game. I know I’m going to sink a lot of time into this, it’s very well done IMO.

I wish you guys could have played original Ghost Recon on Xbox. No respawn. One shot and you you sit in the lobby for 45 minutes. Good times.

I've been playing off and on throughout the day.
Game is light years ahead of where 1 was on launch day. Like someone else said, the main missions and side missions are each done very well to the point where you can't tell one from the other.
There is a ton to do in each zone and matchmaking has been good so far; the in game VOIP system is surprisingly clear.
I can't wait to get to 30 and see what end game has to offer.

Early access here , 4500 hrs on Division 1 , loved that game despite the pvp flaws . Division 2 , is extremely good . Final release has been up and behond my expectations after playing the beta thah had tons of bugs . Very few bugs so far , this is probably the best sequel ive ever played . Tons of loot , extremely good graphics , I really cant say anything bad about it so far . I cant stop playing it .
