I’ve spent the past week with an Xbox Series X in my living room. I’ve played a variety of games on this preview unit, testing load times, performance, and some of the new Series X features. I switched back to an older Xbox One X briefly during testing, and it was like going from cable internet back to the days of a 56k modem. That’s how much the Xbox Series X improves the games you already play every day. Everything just feels better.

And aren’t these games technically not optimized for series X yet either.. so we should expect further improvements upon optimization patches?

Ha, I just posted this graphic in another thread. But yeah, I was expecting a more significant improvement. I know these games haven't been specifically optimized for the Series X, but was still expecting faster load times.

I have one pre-ordered but i have a hard time getting excited about load times. I need something else.

Cool. I can be disappointed with Halo 5 twice as fast now.

Could they have made these names any more confusing? There are going to be a lot of disappointed kids come Christmas.

If it can load The Witcher 3 in less than 30 seconds, I'll be rock hard

So awesome.

I can't find it in me to care about this. Reductions in load times while in game? AWESOME! Cold open? I really don't care other than the fact that this probably means load times in game are also shorter.

ETA: By "in game" I mean when you get a load screen traveling from one part of a map to another.

I usually start up the game and go grab a drink while it loads up. Am typically not back in my seat before it's loaded. I guess if it gets quicker I'll just change my routine.

They'll still find a way to show you three minutes of corporate logos before the "press any key" splash screen.
