Joust on a 5.25 floppy disc on a computer I vaguely remember one of my dad's friends setting up for us. I'm guessing it was emulated but I was so young that I have no idea. He gave us some other floppies with games on them too but this is the only one I remember playing.

I have a hard time remembering which was actually first. It was either Super Mario 64 or Sonic the Hedgehog. I remember playing both but they were part of the same summer.

Q-bert and Warlords on the Atari. I've got my dad's old Atari 2600 and a good bit of games, I still hook it up every few years and mess around on it. My first real fond memories of games came with the NES though. It's been cool to watch different franchises, and gaming as a whole, grow and change.

Unfortunately a lot of what used to be really good has taken a turn for the worst.

For you 2600 baws, I remember using an emulator about 10 years ago. Stella, I think it was called. Worked perfectly back then, but no clue if it works on modern operating systems. Still, you could download the ENTIRE 2600 library of ROMS for almost no HD space.

Wolfenstein 3d

I would play it at my cousin’s house. Their computer was in his parents bedroom. One of us would move around and the other would aim and shoot. My uncle was a K-9 cop at the time and he had a german shepherd. Anytime he would see us kill one of the dogs he would smack us in the back of the head and stand there and watch the next dog kill us because we weren’t allowed to kill it.
