Just noticed the new joint at Burbank and Lee today. Some quick research yields that it is an offshoot of a downtown Hammond restaurant of the same name. Pictures on facebook of the interior look pretty cool, actually. I would think that was a really odd spot (next to Winn Dixie) but with all the student housing coming up across both streets, they could be onto something.

What's the word? Anybody been to this place? How about the one in Hammond?

Is it where the old Deangelos was?

The brothers who run the place went to high school with me. Don't know them that well but I wish them luck.

Do you mean Jefferson Parish by JP or are you asking if my name/initials are JP?

I haven't seen or heard anything about the food. I know they also had some ownership in Tigerland bars, but I'm not sure if that's still something they are a part of anymore.

Went to it Saturday before the game and loved it. But I go to southeastern and go to the one in Hammond all the time and I'm not a burger snob so

Everyone here will likely hate it

Gotcha. I went to catholic as well but about 10 years later. I was thinking of someone else.

man what is the deal here with the "food snob" remarks every time somebody says they don't like something? I live in Hammond also and as you know dining options are a little lean. I've tried it several times and been disappointed each time. It's just not good food in my opinion

if that makes me a burger snob so be it

Went for dinner last night with the family.

Started with the fried mushroom appetizer. Fried perfectly, nice batter, not greasy at all. Really well done.

I had eaten a big lunch, so I ended up splitting the shrimp poboy with my youngest daughter. It was served on Leidenheimer poboy bread, and had plenty of medium sized shrimp, again cooked perfectly. The shrimp were tasty and seemed fresh. The fries were lightly seasoned, and were, well...fries.

Wife and older daughter split the half pound bacon cheeseburger. I didn't taste it, but it was cooked medium from what I saw and they both enjoyed it.

A lot of enticing food options on the menu, enough that I'll be happy to return.

Beer selection was miserable. They had 8 draft beers, and it was basically a who's who of shitty light beer. There wasn't a single pale ale or IPA, so I stuck with water.

Bud Light
Miller Lite
Coors Light
Mich Ultra
Blue Moon
Abita Purple Haze
Tin Roof Blonde
Gnarly Barley Catahoula Common

I'll be back for the food. Hope they will at least rotate something decent in to drink.

Sounded like a place I would like to go to till this.

They are likely just used to Hammond taste and don't realize BR has become a craft beer town. I'm sure they will figure it out soon enough.

I like their burger, I know the one in hammond is a popular bar at night but I assume that this one is going to be more of a restaurant because of its location.

I saw it this morning too thanks to BR traffic and Waze. I saw "Your Mom's" but couldn't make out the rest. I thought it said Box.

I've been going to the one in Hammond since it opened a couple of years ago, and honestly can say it is my favorite burger I have ever had. The chicken sandwiches are really good also. Went to the one in Baton Rouge on Monday and it was every bit as good as the one in Hammond. The jalapeno cream cheese, which they put on the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich, is pretty amazing (I use it with cheese fries, which are also legit). Both the owners are great guys so I am hopeful they can take off her like they did with the original.

been to the one in Hammond. Solid food, was excited when I saw opening in BR. I haven't been yet, but I will, and I expect a good meal. Burgers are good, and as mentioned Roast beef sandwich was excellent.
