Figured this would fit better here than the OT.

What do you recommend as a well-priced, travel coffee mug? Depending on the weather (especially in the winter) and traffic my work commute can be anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour in the morning. I don’t drink more than a cup and a half in the morning, so dealing with getting a coffee pot at work isn’t really feasible and I hate our office Keurig.

I’d just like something that keeps it hot for a couple hours and has a good leakproof seal.

We have a few of these:

They work well, and will keep coffee warm for hours.

I have a mug that is essentially the same tech as a yeti, but not the actual yeti brand. Got it from one of my favorite restaurants in Vermont called Prohibition Pig. Works great.

People are all identified with their chosen hydration brand these days...it’s almost a lifestyle choice for some LOL. Personally, for actually toting and keeping coffee hot, I like a stainless steel vacuum mug or wide mouth bottle. I’ve got an old Nissan brand stainless mug with screw on cap with a rubber grip around the middle that pretty much screams 1998, but it’s still going strong.

My wide mouth (63 mm) Hydroflask with the flip top lid is in heaviest rotation these days. It’s easy to clean, works well for hot or cold, and the diameter is nice for drinking with or without the lid.

I’ve got several of the Yeti and lookalike mugs, and I find the caps awkward for drinking (many have a to small hole that’s always open). I prefer a container with a sealed lid, not a lid with an open hole. Potholes, bumping people, etc and you can’t stick an open top lid into the water bottle pocket of your bag or backpack without risking a spill.

Swell are nice, they’re just a PITA to clean without a bottlebrush, so that shape is pretty much only good for water unless you’re super tidy.

I bought a 20oz Ozark Mountain cup from Wal Mart that I use. It’s great and keeps the coffee hot for quite a while.

I was given a 20oz Corkcicle for a gift and I use it 5 days a week.

I personally don't care if it's a $10 cup or $40 one, I just want it to work well. I have a ton of generic tumblers for cold drinks and I work in a school, I'm not trying to impress anybody.

Magellan brand from academy is great. The yeti lids fit them perfectly plus they’re flared in at the bottom and fit my cup holders better.

If you want a screw on lid with a drinking spout, I bought a simple modern off of Amazon. They’re in tons of sizes and work great. Almost to great for coffee since the lid closes and no steam gets out. I have a 22 oz and my daughter has one as well. So we have three different style of lids. Mine came with two and hers with one. She uses it for a water bottle at soccer.

I've got a Bubba mug. I've had coffee stay hot for about 5 or 6 hours in that thing.

Contigo. They are spill proof and do a good job of keeping it hot.

Zojorushi travel mug off Amazon is hands down the best travel mug I have ever owned or used. I have kept beverages hot for a full 10 hour shift, making coffee about 1 hour before I actually start work. It's less "mug" and more "bottle" and the largest (20 oz) fits in any cupholder in your car. It comes completely apart as well for cleaning.

I must have a coffee drinking problem. I don't care how big the cup. It is usually empty before I back out the driveway or leave the parking lot. Slam that shite.

I agree with the Contigo. I’ve been using them for years. They are spill proof, reasonably priced, and keep the coffee hot for about two hours.

I went ahead and went with the Contigo (like you pictured, $15 on Amazon). Figured it would do what I needed and I liked that it was narrower and could fit in my cup holder.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I’m sure it won’t be the last one I buy.
