That rioja you got is a good start in the right direction. Tempranillo is in my top 5 of grapes. Maybe even at 2 behind sangiovese.

Since that's there only place I've been, outside of a day trip in the Hill country outside Austin, I'm the same way. Really hard to branch out. I appreciate threads like these for giving me ideas of what is good that isn't too expensive

It's a good wine. You should also try Vino Nibile di Montepulciano.

The one you bought is made to be consumed when released.

I’m not a wine guy but I will give you a report from my wife when she opens it. Her favorite 19 crimes is the Uprising.
