More a condiment than a snack but I visited backcountry Venezuela many years ago. The locals use fresh fire ants as a topping. So I tried it during a backpacking trip. Literally you just grab a couple off the ground (they're everywhere), crush them together, and put on your food.

Taiwan Street Market Squid. (was okay to try)
Tawian Street Market Spicy Chicken Feet (fantastic when drunk.
1,000 Year Egg (actually enjoyed it and ordered it several times.)

Weirdest for everyday Americans would probably be dried cod with butter spread on top. It is so delicious though, been eating it my whole life. Sucks it can only be obtained by importing it from Iceland.

This. Had it for the first time last year. It honestly wasn't that bad if you like eggs and duck, which I do.

Sophomore year in college. Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck (aka bw-3) opened a second store on south campus. We had leftover containers of blue cheese dressing. We were new to smoking pot. We got the munchies.
We dipped peanuts, Special-K cereal, and Oreo cookies into that dressing. It was magnificent.
