Posted by SUB Damn this thread is full of uppity tards. To call Sammy's average is ridiculous. Is it freaking Dicky Brennan's? Of course not. It's a bar & grill style restaurant and they are great at what they do. And they do a great job with dine-in crawfish...probably one of the best in Baton Rouge.
.

I find their food to be bland.

What do you eat there? The country fried steak is anything but bland.

Ya, I hear that all the time. Think I even read it in the paper!

Funny how people who say it sucks, etc. know all about the food and how long the waits are.

I love their chicken fried steak, but I do find that all of their fried food tastes exactly the same.. like a "sammy's" taste.. I can't describe it. But you can give me anything fried from there without telling me and I'd know it's from there. They have a specific taste in their grease.

I love the fried seafood where I work, so when I ordered fried seafood from Sammy's a while back, I was not at all happy. But as I said, I prefer Sammy's CFS over our's.

I order to-go from there probably a couple times per month. I don't really think of it as a dine-in spot unless I'm doing lunch and craving that type food. It's a to-go place in my mind.

I'm judging the wait time on what I see sitting out on the porch as I drive by. I have been forced to go there any times as part of a group thing. And yea, it's average

You've never seen the like 30+ people sitting on the porch and in the parking lot waiting for a table?

I've been to Sammy's on a busy night before.. they keep the hostess outside and people don't even wait for tables inside.

Did I say I have had raw oysters at Sammy's? Pville has them routinely.

I have, but that doesn't really change the fact that just guessing a wait time based on some people outside is ridiculous.

Not to mention their extensive knowledge of the food. (not referring to LL)

Gasp...I've eaten at Sammy's! It backs up my claims that I've tasted it, and didn't care for it. Over-hyped restaurant. Sweet melt, bro
